As saffron is a speciality of the Abruzzo region, for our primi, we had the saffron spaghetti with cream and bacon; and the saffron pappardelle with zucchini and creamy parmigiana sauce. For our secondi, we had the lamb chops with baked potato; and the beef casserole with herbs from the Abruzzo region. For our dolce, we had the cream of custard with saffron with biscotti di solina; and the fragole with lemon and sugar. We enjoyed a 2017 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo “Emilio Pepe”, which was a vino biologico. This was a great, typical meal of the region and the service was excellent. The restaurant was a short drive from our Abruzzo Segretto B&B.
