“Excellent traditional French restaurant close to Roland Garros”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

Went twice in August, once dinner the other time lunch. The menu has all the traditional brasserie/bistrot fare including a spectacular andouillette AAAAA plus veal liver, confit de canard and so on. Service is friendly and efficient but this is generally a busy place so need a bit of patience. Excellent desserts (traditional too) include mousse au chocolat and a cafe gourmand to die for. Being on a terrace in a quaint section of Boulogne made the experience memorable.

“chercher ailleurs, bad food”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

La nourriture a préparé terriblement, le chef de cuisine ne sait pas cuisiner un steak, et les prix sont très hauts. Pas digne de votre visite. Chercher hors du voisinage.

This is not the French experience* you are looking for.

*French experience: great food

I have visited this restaurant five or more times this year, four in 2011 and always with a French friend - it's in his neighborhood and he dines here once a week only because it's habit and the only choice within easy walking. Consistently bad food is served. We dine here only because of this friend.

The best dish they prepare is the pepper steak and it's so-so, the others are also mediocre. On our *hopefully last ever visit* My husband ordered In French: mon mari Francais requested a "medium rare".. on the rare side- steak preparation (speaking French). I received a well-done steak. At the insistence of our friend, the plate was returned to the kitchen. A steak came back, this one seared - raw on the inside.

Our table was easy; 3 people ordered the pepper steak, me a regular steak. There were only two other tables in the restaurant occupied on this week night.

Why continue to support this horrible chef who knows nothing of cooking meat? Preparing a steak at a desired temperature is fundamental. As the founding father of this restaurant died in 2011, it's uncertain if it was always this bad, or if the son is letting the restaurant go to crap.

Luckily, there are many other good restaurants in Paris.
