“Quite a scene”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Our hotel concierge recommended this restaurant but said we needed to get there early. They don't take reservations and said they opened at 6:30pm. Unfortunately, they had some staff issues ( so French) and didn't open until almost 7:00pm. By the time they opened over 50 people were waiting to get in. I took this as a good sign!

The restaurant has three floors and is very efficient. We were give a table at the front window immediately. The wait staff were friendly and very helpful. All spoke some English but appreciated any attempt at French.

What was amazing was the restaurant was incredibly busy, but you never really noticed. Great staff that never made you feel rushed.

Our order was taken quickly and both the wine and food were served at their best. We both had oysters to start and a seafood brochette as our main course. No shortage of food and well presented. The oysters were perfect and while I really liked to vinegar onion sauce, the cream sauce was not great. The brochette was prepared simply but cooked to perfection with a subtle sauce accompanied with pomme frites. The frites were a guilty pleasure and just okay.

By the time we finished, there were a ton of people staring in at us wanting our table. If you want simple, straightforward and really fresh seafood in Boulogne-Billancourt, this is the place

“Enjoy the show! - and the food.”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

Decided to eat here on our last night in Paris, a good decision. Dining at this place is like eating in a theatre, relaxing it isn`t but as a great night out its perfect. The bustle of waiters going this way and that, with huge platters of seafood that look like works of art is endlessly fascinating. As were the very cosmopolitan clientele which included on our night a Korean family of 12 with enough lobster, crab, mussels and every other kind of fish on their table, to empty the sea .Our platter for 2, of every kind of shellfish was huge and very good - but I felt almost guilty as we could have fed 5 or 6 from it at home!

“Great place for surf and turf”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

We went there to celebrate the birthday of a friend and weren't disappointed. They don't take reservations and we waited a mere 5 minutes before being seated as we arrived after 9pm.

We skipped the appetisers and dove straight into two delicious and huge platters: one had freshly cooked seafood (lobster, crab and shrimps) and the other had tender and juicy, grilled beef (we ordered it rare). Side dishes included a platter of fries and a pot of rice stew with mussels in it. They were frozen fries and the rice stew was a bit bland but we didn't go to Pedra Alta for the sides.

Order the homemade flan for dessert. It was delicious. I thought the waiters were a bit surly until I saw them bust into action for our friend the birthday boy: they turned off the lights and sung happy birthday in French and Portuguese and even offered him a slice of birthday cake with a flame-shooting candle. Our friend was dying a thousand deaths from the embarrassment of everyone in the restaurant serenading him on his special day. What an amazingly kitsch and fun way to celebrate a birthday!

“Pedra Alta - again and again!”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

Will always come to eat at this place every time i visit Paris. It's really bubbly full with life and laughter, everybody enjoying their food and wine. Nearing food orgie..

Really the best seafood i've every eaten in Europe, next to Brüssel. Very fresh and delicious. Even thumbs up for the grill beef! The dessert was wonderful! My best meal of the year.

The only prob is the long waiting time till u get a table for such a great place.
