Siblu Villages - Domaine de Dugny
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 19, 2014

We stayed here for one week last summer and are returning this July for two weeks! Site is perfect for families with small children and our boys (6 and 4) had a blast. Entertainment is well run and kids made to feel very welcome. Some people have said that the kids entertainment starts too late but I disagree. Gave us time to relax, have a BBQ and then head out for the entertainment without feeling rushed.
Mobile homes are modern and spotlessly clean.
Plenty to do in the local area - Chaumont castle being one and there is a great beach by the river at Montrichard.
Only downside as others have said is the reserving of sunbeds. We sat one morning (in a tiny corner where we were lucky to have got a couple of beds) while about 8 beds and 2 umbrellas stayed empty until 2 o'clock in the afternoon!

We stayed at Le Dungy on our second week for 7 nights, With my wife daughter, son in law and 4 grandkids, Loved this Little site Nice pools, Just 1 Negitive Side i Would say before i get on the Positive sides is The Pools are great with Slides and Beds to Sunbathe, The Pools opens at 9.30am But you get The Adults Waiting outside to Reserve Beds for Sunbathing, I know its hard to believe ON A CAMPSITE Reserving Beds, I was Actually Going to take a photo off this, Thought this only happened in Spain Well thats there Sad Lives, Anyway get on with the positives, Nice Little courtyard to have a Drink and great animation team for the kids, We Take our bikes When we go to france So we do a Little bit of Cycling (LITTLE That is) only to the village and local coutryside, In the Local village you have a Lidl and Casino Supermarket, Also in The Village is a Tabac shop For you Cigerettes or cigars and a Nice little bar For a beer or coffee to chill out, I also had a Game of Golf there at Blois nice course, But for a Nice day out Montrichard is a nice little town and a Manmade beach on the river, Canoes and sunbathing,

Room Tip: We Were by The Pool Which was ok for the kids to just Go to, But by the lake was quiet

Just returned from our second holiday here this year. I love this place, so do my children aged 9 and 5. Accodation is nice and clean. Location lovely and quiet. Staff and the entertainment team were amazing and really made the holiday! They were all so lovely and the entertainment was top class as was the kids club. The pool was good too, with a nice friendly 'northern ladd' lifeguard. I originally planned to see the local area too but couldn't drag the children away from the park as they were having too much fun. Even the bar and takeaway was reasonably priced. Would recommend the jugs if wine! Huge ones, 7-8 glasses in? Only 9 euros - was nice too.

stayed here for one week with two boys age 6 and 4.This campsite is within a lovely environment in the Loire valley, surrounded by forests. we stayed in the 3 bedroomed elegance which was well equipped for indoor living and outdoor eating. I definitely wouldn't go smaller. The chalets are placed so that you have some privacy. The facilities were great for our boys and we spent days playing within the campsite. We loved the pools. The outdoor pool is cold but was cooling in the hot sun. Because of this the boys liked the heated indoor pool. The staff were very welcoming and the service was efficient. The entertainment team and kids club team were very professional and I was enthralled with some of the shows that they put on each night. A big effort was definitely put in by all the teams were was greatly appreciated by us.We could have stayed on another week. Lots of things to do within the valley. However we used our time at the pool and cycling through the forests.

Room Tip: pay a bit extra for the three bedroomed elegance chalet.

We have previously paid more at Keycamps and following a poor response to a problem with our last stay, looked for an alternative company, who turned out to both cheaper (I didn’t use Tesco vouchers either) and much better.
Hard to find fault, I would agree with most of the comments about the Bar and Restaurant, but found the service friendly, everything else was excellent.
We arrived late at about 9.00pm and were immediately shown to our home, it was so clean I thought we were the first occupants and everything we had asked for was ready (towels etc). Reception were great (especially Alex), my daughter (aged 8) loved the kids club and we all enjoyed the evening entertainment with special praise to the ever friendly Stephan, who had the misfortune to live behind us and got bugged by my son (aged 4), but was polite and friendly even on his day off.
Pools are great and I thought the life guards were a good balance between safety and not overbearing.
We are already planning our next visit in 2015.

Room Tip: I wouldnt worry as the site is not too big so anywhere will be OK.

We arrived at the park on August 11 as a family of 5, three children aged 14, 10 and 6. We arrived from Roscoff at 13.01 and even though reception had just closed Alex opened up, gave us our key and welcome pack and even offered to stroll ahead to point us in the right direction!

We arrived at our 3 bed excellence and I was disappointed to find the standard of cleaning well below expectations so, rather than stress over this we swept and washed floors and cleaned bathrooms ourselves. I mentioned this at reception the following morning and it would be disingenuous of me if I did not mention how disappointed Alex was.
Later that evening Jenny the onsite manager arrived to discuss the matter and she was clearly annoyed that we found our mobile like this and gave us a bottle of wine and the kids were given a complimentary go kart ride. I needed nothing more and was pleased with how the matter was dealt with.

All that aside we were blessed with beautiful weather except for one warm, cloudy day. We took advantage of this break from sun and went to the market at Amboise. This is a lovely touristy town and we went to Clois Luce that day. Onzain is disappointing as a village so it is worth it to take the 20 min trip to either Blois or Amboise.

I thought the Casino was fine as a supermarket but if you are a real foodie family, love cooking and want a huge selection put Auchan into your sat nav. It is about 6 mins outside the town of Blois and driving from the site along the Loire River (after going from Onzain) it's a lovely, straightforward trip and well worth it. If you notice a Leader price on your sat nav saying its 20 mins avoid, avoid!! It is a dump and in a dreadful area on the suburbs of Blois.

I think the lifeguards were overly criticised by some contributors and I thought this unfair. Rules were there for our kids safety not to ruin their fun. They were allowed inflatables and a ball, that's a first in a pool in France or anywhere for that matter.

I agree with other contributors about the shop. It was overpriced and poorly stocked. There is certainly room onsite for a better quality store.

The laundry was great value at 4€ and great that you didn't need to make the trip to reception for tokens, coins sufficed.

I can't comment on kids club, mine don't have an interest in them and they were lucky as the kids from Day 2 hung out with kids their own age from two families travelling together and it made their holiday.

All in all our best French holiday by far, so much so we are booked again for next year.

We stayed in an elegance home from 10-17 Aug. 2 adults and 2 children aged 7 & 4.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Good shower and comfy beds. Outside covered terrace was great for eating and taking cover from the sun.

The pool area is really good for whole family. Fairly busy but not overly so. Different pools cater well for different age groups.

The on-site restaurant, bar and shop are very poor. Service is difficult to muster, food quality in restaurant is poor and range in shop is very limited. Furthermore the prices are shockingly high. After the first night we shopped at the 'Casino' supermarket in Onzain and ate/drank in every night after that. We would have happily ate in the restaurant every night and got drinks from the bar if quality and service were better and prices were more reasonable. This really needs sorting out.

Aside from bar, shop and restaurant however we all had a great time. Staff very friendly and helpful. We would go back but only if we read better reviews beforehand regarding restaurant and bar.

Once again thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your holiday
experience here at Domaine de Dugny.
Terraces on our mobile homes do indeed help to give
you a fantastic opportunity to enjoy outside living , taking maximum advantage of the
good weather and longer evenings here in France.
Your comments regarding the restuarant and convenience store have been passed on to
the company working alongside the park and will be looked into closely for next year. In the meantime please accept my apologies, hopefully it will not deter you from visiting us again at some point in the future
Kind regards
Jenny Thompson
