Popped in here for a lovely pizza in their beautiful back garden.
The staff were really friendly and we had a lovely evening.
We will return for sure.

Went with hubby while on holiday last week, and had a great meal. Outside sign could confuse you, as on net as Les Jardins d'Italie, and outside is in Italian as Il Giardino d'Italia !

This aside, we were taken to the outside seating downstairs, which was lovely on a hot evening. Hubby had calzone and I had the biggest bolognaise ever seen.....really good food and service. Good value at 49€ for two courses each and a decent bottle of wine.

We entered the packed restaurant a Wednesday night. Service nice and friendly- they quickly exchanged everything and got us new San pelligrino when we spilled out water and answered questions in good English. The food however, was more about quantity than quality. My husband made the wiser choice, going simple, and had an ok pizza, although ruccola on top was not rinsed and still sandy. My seafood pasta was simmering in oil, and had small dry chewy pieces of what reassembled seafood deeply embedded. The plates where large though so no one will leave hungry. And the children menu, with pasta, drink and ice cream for 7 euros, is good. All in all, come here if really hungry, but keep it simple and stay away from the sea.

It now seems to be called Le Giardina d'Italia.

We arrived about 7:45 in the evening, on a Saturday.

As we went in it looked nice, with Linen cloths on the tables but when we were asked if we had booked (we hadn't) we were taken to the back of the restaurant, down some concrete steps into a small marquee attached to the back of the restaurant. It was OK, but no atmosphere, especially as we were the first down there. It was warm, but paper table cloths and tables very close together. So much so that people on the next table were knocking ours when they sat down and whenever they moved at all. We shared a really lovely bruschetta as an anti-pasta with tomatoes and mozzarella and we gave that 10/10! We thought that was how we would be able to rate the whole meal. Sadly not!

Th service was fast - possibly too fast as we had only just finished the bruschetta when the main course was delivered. I say main course rather than courses as one arrived a good five minutes before th other. I had a spaghetti carbonara which I would give a maximum of 4/5, as there was no egg on top and the spaghetti was a little "sticky". It did taste good though. BUT THE PIZZA - Well it came burnt on top - the chorizo was blackened to a crisp on top and the crust had many burn marks. But even worse, the pizza base was soft and mushy and almost completely uncooked. And, ours was not the only one like that from what we could see, as others seems very similar including a calzone on the next table. I know there can be bad days, but this was not good at all.

Pretty good pizza at a decent price, and there's always an atmosphere - not something that's always the case round here. The mixed charcuterie starter is a must.
