“Excellent restaurant in Vannes”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

A very good place to go both at noon and in the evening. Good and inventive dishes, a fine array of wines, and efficient staff.

“This place is a must do if you enjoy good food”
Reviewed September 17, 2011

We went for lunch on a Thursday - its a stylish and unassuming restaurant close to the cathedral. Didnt need a reservation. There are a few menus to choose from - cheapest at 25 Euros upto 65, we went for the 45 Euro. The food really was special - service exceptional (both informal and attentive). We were greeted by the chef himself who explained any of the dishes with passion. The food is fresh and modern with a real depth of taste and beautifully presented. Not one dish disappointed, the octopus and bean stew and the strawberry and basil dessert were truely exceptional. Lots of added "intermediate" courses and palette cleansers combined to make it one of the very best meals we have had this year. Wine list is top end and is priced to reflect it but you can buy a wide selection by the glass. I urge you to go.

“Underrated in the Michelin guide”
Reviewed October 8, 2010

We did a tour this summer of the Atlantic coast based on the good restaurants in the
Michelin guide and also visited restaurant Roscanvec and we all agreed that they are underrated in the guide and should get at least 2 and even 3 "couverts".
The food was great, service excellent and atmosphere the best we had all our journey (and we visited 8 restaurants in total)!!!

“Good but not 'great'”
Reviewed October 3, 2010

We enjoyed our evening here, service was excellent, food good, price fair. However (!) our wee grumbles would be a) we were placed upstairs, and no atmosphere due to only one other table being occupied, and VERY bright b) our red wine was served chilled. Not always a bad thing, but rarely works. As it turns out, it was due to how it was stored, and not I believe intentional. I pointed it out and was assured that it would be fine when poured into a carafe. Fine, but of course it wasn't. It did warm up, but really we had chilled red wine. The food is gourmet, with foams etc, and was very good. Dessert was fine, nothing special. So, overall, I'd think twice about going back, but glad we went, as according to the owners of Villa Kerasy, it's the best restaurant in town. It possibly is the 'finest' in town, but sometimes a brasserie does it just as well, in it's own way. My advice is don't rule it out, but don't assume flawless!
