I wouldn't go as far as "Very Good", but it is better than average - just. My terrine starter was very good; great for a Bistro and the salmon "en croûte de chorizo" was pretty decent. Service, decor, location, all good.

But, as we say in Derry, it was "wile dear". 97 euros for two. OK, we had a bottle of wine and an aperitif and I had a cognac (7 euros) but we had just two courses and no coffee.

The choice of white wine was way too limited and no set menu.

However, two guys were seated next next to us and we struck up a conversation with them and we had a great aul' night. Very little to do with the restaurant though.

I never thought that veal giblets could taste so good. The cooking is 1st class. My wife's chicken dish made her swoon. Staff friendly and got great help selecting the wine from the blonde lady. Thank you all.

We were a party of 5 friends taking part in the Semaine du Golfe a yacht race that began for us in La Rochelle visting, Belle Isle, Baden, Port Crouesty, Le Bono and numerous other places. Until we found this place we had become on the whole disappointed with the quality and presentation of the food available in France at reasonably priced restaurants. This place is a real find. The food is lovely and the service very warm (even eccentric). The decor is original and very comfortable. Lovely to be in a proper but unstuffy restaurant. We dined here on Saturday 11th May.
