I went to this small island with friends from England. We parked our car in the car park and purchased our tickets, no need to reserve and walked the short distance to the ferry. It goes several times a day, so not long to wait. The crossing to Ile de Batz is only about 15 minutes. No cars are allowed. What a wonderful little island. There are several places to eat and shops. The beach is nice and a wonderful way to spend a day. It is like stepping into another time. Very peaceful. There are also youth hostels for a weekend break. Highly recommend.

Be careful not to visit between their 'closed hours' of 12 and 2pm! Boat trip here costs 8 Euros for adults and 4 Euros for children. Great value for a lovely trip on a lovely bit of coastline. Beautiful little coves here and gorgeous little houses to look at. Beautiful church (the French seem to do beautiful churches very well) well worth a visit. Lovely hotel/bar/restaurant on the quay which has refurbished and gorgeous. There is a little supermarket which you can get a bit of lunch if all else fails however would have been lovely to go at lunchtime to ensure the restaurants were open instead of the supermarket option! However - love this place!

beautiful tiny island. Lovely to walk between the fields to the wild coast on the other side from Roscoff. Bikes are for hire - fun. Very pretty cottages. Lovely day out

Just 15 minutes boat ride from Roscoff (8 euro adult return), Ile de Batz is a carless (as in no cars!) haven of abundant hortensia, stone cottages, boats bobbing in crystal clear water and great views in all directions. You can stay close to the boat landing and swim off the beach or seek out your own private corner far from the maddening....oops, getting carried away there.....it's calm, if the weather is nice it beats the cote d'azur, and there were several little places still available for rent (late july!). restaurants serve simple food (crepes, moules frites). If you don't bring a picnic they are very affordable, but there is one 'supermarche' where you can get the essentials i.e. bread, cheese, wine...Well worth a visit for a lazy day off the mainland.

We took a chance on the weather and visited anyway on bikes on a showery day. Lovely beaches and scenery. Had a good pizza in the only pizzeria on the island. Ferry takes 10-15 mins, 8 euros pp & per bike. A good visit, would recommend.
