Les Remains is a charming old stone house facing the sea, a grand total of four rooms are charmingly named after spices and each room boasts a massive window with panoramic view of a moody blue grey ocean. Surrounded by a garden full of herbs and spices (and roses) and backing onto a walk along the cliffs, everything you need for a romantic escape is right there… you really don’t ever need to leave.
We had the room 'Muscade', which we were told was a little small, but we did not think so at all! The décor is white on white with a tasteful smattering of antique furniture and parisienne greigh. You’ll also enjoy the copious white fluffy pillows and bath tub – I’m talking about a SERIOUS bath tub. Sip your complementary liquour and nibble some light as air shortbread and take in the view.
It’s really, a special event worthy destination, completely romantic and very atmospheric.
A great side trip for couples or honeymooners with museum or Mont San Michele crowd fatigue, who want to wind down and really have nothing to do. You can walk through the garden to a highly photographic clifftop walk or just stare off across the gardens across the endless blue from your bedroom window.
