We stopped at Mountain Creek to play golf on the way up to Issan and played 18 holes on what i would describe as one of the best courses in Asia. So good we stopped on the way back to play another 18 holes including the 9 we missed first time round
The Creek 9 is the most technically challenging but all 3 nines are awesome.
The condition of the greens, fairways and bunkers are second to none and when you are playing a hole, you hardly see another .
The service in the clubhouse, locker rooms and restaurant were fantastic and with sports days on Monday and Wednesday you can play for 1550 Baht (greenfee, caddy and buggy )
There is also a discount available for the over 60's
If God designed golf courses, this is what they would be like
Thank you Seve

after a 6 days short stay in hua hin during new year where we playd banayan, black mountain and the very nice new army course 'seapine" we passed on our way back home mountain creek and decided to take a look.
we did not regret at all because the golfcouse(27 holes, developed by seve balasteros) is beautifull and very challenging.
we stayd for two nights in the winter-villa situated on one of the fairways.
lot of space good bed, excellent bathroom with big tube and nice terras.
special rate 6000baht weekdays and 8000 baht on friday for room and two people greenfee incl breakfast and lunch.
we have tried dinner in the poolbar as well in the restaurant an both times we enjoyed the food and the service.
we will come back for sure.

We booked this hotel through a website. It's one of the newest hotel in Khao yai area. The reviews from the websites comes from most locals saying how wonderful the place is. While in tripadvisor, previous reviews show "poor" and "horrible". So, we want to try to check the place out.

To sum up our experience, the hotel seems quite empty and still not fully functional. The place is new and beautiful but lacks of coziness and staffs. It's like staying at a new house in the middle of no where with minimum service provided. If you aren't a keen golf player, stay elsewhere might be a better choice for your money.

Hotel Location : on the left side of Mittraphap road coming from Bangkok. The hotel is deep 3-4 kilometers away from its main entrance. The lobby called the clubhouse is a low rise building in the middle of the golf course. The parking area, the club house and the hotel rooms are so far apart that we need the small golf cart service to send us to the room.

The worst thing about getting to this hotel is, there's no clear direction of where the hotel is. We got the coordinates from the hotel official website and plot it in our GPS. Turns out, we were driving in to Khorat town which is about 60 kilometers away from the hotel. Once we call the hotel to ask for directions, the staffs apologized that the coordinates were wrong. They fully aware of this mistake but haven't correct it. And they also don't know the exact coordinates of the hotel. So we end up driving 120 kilometers for nothing.

Room decoration / size : decorate contemporary African style. The bathing area divided in to 3 small rooms, one with a round big (turkish) bath tub, one with an oversize shower, one with the toilet. The minibar area has a coffee machine as well as the refrigerator.

Room view : view of the grass field and golf courses.

Service : call the room service and reception a couple times at 9 pm and no answer. Maybe this place is too new to have fully functional service.

Price : overpriced. We paid 5,000 THB for the room. It's only worth 3,500. For the quality of service provide.

Sleep quality : the king size bed turns out to be 2 twins putting together with a big gap in the middle. Bring the repellant, lots of Mosquitos in the room with you.

Swimming pool : big pool, too bad the water is too cold now in November - so we didn't try to swim in it.

Facility : 2 restaurants to serves breakfast. One is at the club house, another one is near the pool. There's massage service but only offer traditional Thai massage at 600 THB/ 60 minutes. We went to the massage and there's only 1 massauer in the entire hotel. (We are puzzled to see 10 massages bed and told there's only 1 massauer. So, we have to take turns to get the service.

Wifi : is free but need username and password to log in. Each log in last for 24 hours. And you need to log in again, if you move to the new location (within the same resort). The WiFi also weak in some areas, so need to find a good spot for it.

TV : total of 16 channels. Only 15 is working. 4 channels are English speaking and the rest are Thai.

Food : good food at the main restaurant. Reasonable price. Room service menu looks decent. Too bad they never pick up the phone, so we can't even place the order after all.

Room tip: The room are mostly the same. The winter villas are standard rooms. The summer villas are the same with Winter villa with a small swimming pool next to the room. The spring breeze Family villa are 2 winter villas connected with a medium size (10 meters long) pool.

There are three types of Villa at Mountain Creek. We booked Winter Villa which is the cheapest one. The Summer villa is just like Winter Villa but with a really tiny pool that looks more like big bathtub and that comes with double price. As there is a swimming pool plus pool bar for everyone at the clubhouse, I would recommend everyone to get Winter Villa instead. The most expensive villa is Spring Villa which is more like 2 Winter Villa connecting with the open-air living room. The swimming pool at Spring Villa is quite spacious. We would love to try this type of villa next time.

The villa is clean, spacious with modern design. My villa is just facing the golf course. I think this resorts is highly suitable for golf lover. I noticed there are a lot of golfers coming here during the weekend. Anyway, our group love the villa even we are not the golfer. The bath tub was really big that I think 4 persons can take a bath together at a time/

The service is really topnotch. All the requests were promptly responded. One thing I found extraordinary is that all the staffs would call me "Master" in Thai. I'm not saying that it is good or bad but I'm just not used to it.

The breakfast buffet was OK but egg station should be improved. My friends all couldn't finish the hard omelettes and fired egg. I think westerners would prefer softer one than what they are serving now. The view from the breakfast place was really nice but there are too many flies and could make you lose your appetite easily.
