Stayed for one night to break a long journey, and wish we had not.We stay at hotels under the Accor brand frequently, so are used to small variations in quality and service, but have never had cause for complaint, rather the opposite. This place however was so bad that it even prompted me to write a letter of complaint to Accor customer services, something I have never done before. Reception was okay but it was downhill after that, hotel is badly in need of an update but that does not excuse an inadequate cleaning regime and an obvious lack standards and management supervision. The bath had black mould around it, and the general appearance ot the bathroom dilapidated with an ill fitting bath panel and a loose edging strip at the side of the sink, in addition the bedroom had little evidence of any form of deep cleaning. We were so disappointed, that we returned to reception to ask for another room, sadly the alternative that we were offered was only marginally better than the first so we gritted our teeth and stayed where we were. Dinner was very poor, my entrecote steak was virtually inedible and covered in a brown "goo" masquerading as "sauce echalote," my wife's fish was dry and tasteless. We did not chance breakfast !
If we had not been so tired after a long drive, and had a better knowledge of the area, we would definately not have stayed at this hotel.

The hotel is central to the town, in a good position with a spectacular view of a fountain in the centre of the wide river Cher. Staff were curt ties and helpful although their English was not very good but neither was our French. Double bed room was comfortable and clean with air con which made it very pleasant. Only disadvantage is there is no hotel car park but we were lucky to find a space in the limited on street parking outside the hotel.

Hotel was difficult to find as not well signed from motorway.
Rooms what you would expect from a chain hotel - reasonable value, clean comfortable.
Location good, near old town with plenty of restaurants.
Slept badly because of insects (mosquitoes?) was badly bitten during night and carried the bites for rest of holiday.

I get good deals with Ibis and chose this hotel en route from the channel to the med. Was pleasantly surprised by the town - hotel near the old town which was quite interesting (even on a wet evening) plenty of reasonable restaurants. As to the hotel - like a few of the older Ibis - needs a refurb - but for one night we had a good nights sleep and the underground car park was only Eur4:30. For the price I paid - no complaints
