We stayed here 2 years ago the week when the current owners took over. Since then they have updated the hotel really well. We probably had the best room, just above the bar with a great sea view. The location is brilliant - a few yards from the beach and close to all the restaurants, shops and bars. Petit dejeuner (great cafe au lait, croissants, baguettes, fruit, cereal, fruit juice) is served in the brightly painted bar, which is open all day for drinks and light meals, crepes being the speciality. In July and August breakfast is included in the price which is excellent. The owners are charming, welcoming, helpful - and even smiled when we didn't take our key one evening and had to be let in quite late! There is a safe car park and a garage where bikes, surfboards etc can be stored. Although we were at the front of the hotel it was very quiet most of the time although in full season it may be noisier later in the evening. We were there to visit our son who is working in Mimizan Plage for the summer and would definitely return if we are ever in the area again.

Room Tip: On the front there's a sea view but at the back would be very quiet

We wanted to stay in this hotel based on good reviews and booked the last available room 1 day ahead of our stay. However, the next day we found out that a family member has suddenly passed away and we had to return home immediately. We contacted the hotel and explained the situation both in English and French, but the hotel insisted that they will charge us the whole stay (2 days). Not even the intermediary (booking.com) could achieve anything with the hotel management.
We thus cancelled our booking and got charged fully for the room we never used. Further insolence of the hotel was that they then advertised the room in which we would be staying and was already payed for, obviously wanting to make even more money.
We felt deeply offended by the hotel deplorable conduct and will certainly never again book a room there.

We stopped for two nights at this small hotel on our way to the Algarve. It is situated on the sea front opposite the surf club and has private secure parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a pleasure staying there. We booked on the internet in advance through a booking agency and paid more than the special offer price that was advertised when we checked in. This may be because it was the end of the season.

There is a car park next to the hotel but you need to get the key off the person at reception to use it. Staff were very friendly. The rooms were a bit more basic than I imagined but clean enough. Breakfast is a few euros extra and consisted of fruit, croissant and tea/coffee. Overall, I would go back again purely for location next to the beach and the town centre.

This hotel is the essence of a family-run hotel in SW France. The proprietors are very friendly, and so helpful with questions, recommendations, requests, etc. For example - the cups in the room are only plastic (and that lovely flimsy plastic that French hotels seem to love), but we happened to have a bottle of wine with us from our previous nights in Bordeaux. We asked the proprietor for a couple of glasses for the wine, and he provided them in a jiffy.

The location for the hotel is perfect - it is right on the edge of the pedestrian zone, and 50 m or so from the entrance to the beautiful Mimizan plage. We had a family room that could accommodate 4 people, which was tucked down under the front of the hotel. It was a bit of a tiny place, but there were bunkbeds for the children, which made them so happy! It was also quite quiet, and there were a table and two chairs right down the hall where we could read (or drink the aforementioned wine) after the kids went to bed. The car park was very convenient, and easy to negotiate.

The only negatives? There is occasionally a bit of a sewer-y smell that settles over the beach, and since the hotel is so close, you can smell it as well (this happened for 5-10 min/day that we were there). Since the room is so petite (again, though, not horribly so for France/mainland Europe), the bathroom only has an accordion-style door, which is not my favorite arrangement.

One other thing to note about Mimizan Plage, at least in June - on the weekend, the town and beach are bustling and fun. We left on a Monday morning, and everything seemed very sleepy and quiet then.

We stayed at the hotel for one night. The location is fantastic - on the beach front road very close to all the restaurants and shops. It's a great location for surfers - we were able to check the waves by just walking across the road! The carpark is free with a locked gate. The rooms are really cheap for what you get - ours was spacious and bright. The decor is colorful but a little outdated looking - totally fine for the price you pay and it's clean. Our only problem was noise from people in the corridors and outside in the road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's a cool bar and daytime cafe downstairs that does a coffee or tea with a croissant for €3. Breakfast is free when you stay during July and August.

Really good value for money- a stones throw from the beach, clean, family friendly and helpful staff. A great place for anyone looking for a simple, comfortable hotel next to the beach. We stayed in a family room which was quite small but it didn't matter as we didn't spend much time there.
