“True Gem in Mimizan!”
Reviewed May 12, 2014 via mobile

We found a true gem in Mimizan! This hotel was perfectly located...close to the beach and close to the equestrian center where we were doing a horseback riding camp. The owners are friendly and passionate about their property and it shows! We stayed in one of the villas and truly enjoyed our little haven. The room was clean, well decorated and most important, a very comfortable bed. We look forward to returning again on our next horseback riding adventure!!

We stayed here for two nights on our way back to Caen having been travelling and stopping in bed and breakfasts for three weeks. The location was quiet but not far to walk and cycle to the beautiful, long sandy beach where there were some good restaurants. Cycle hire was reasonable and good bikes were available at the beach. We cycled along dedicated paths to the beach and back to the hotel, and also into the attractive small town of Mimezam. Our room was clean, well furnished, with a comfortable bed. The owners are a lovely couple, very welcoming and the food was good, served in conservatory so that you feel as if you are sitting in the garden. It was the best accommodation of our touring holiday during September and there was a good feel to it. I definitely recommend it.

We stayed for just one night and would have stayed for another had we not had a reservation in Arcachon. The room was not very large, simple and basic but perfectly clean. It had a double bed and a single bed for our daughter. Dinner in front of the hotel was really good and the menu at €18 was exceptional value including an aubergine and salmon starter followed by chicken salad and wonderful lasagne and lemon meringue pie. Lasagne is not something I would normally order in a restaurant but this was truly home made and delicious.

You can walk to the beach on the cycle path just at the rear of the hotel. The receptionist also suggested a lovely circuit around the town and through the forest.

However it was the delightful service at reception and in the restaurant which made this a memorable stay.

On a slow journey back to Calais after holidaying in the South of France we chanced upon this small Logis rated hotel. We were advised that they only had one room available for the night, which they were more than happy to show to us. The room was very clean, tidy and more than adequately furnished for an overnight stay. We had dinner in the restaurant, the choice being restricted to one dish of the day owing to it being a National holiday. The food was more than acceptable, hot and well cooked. Breakfast was also enjoyed the following morning - a good continental spread with excellent coffee.

This Logis is in a great town with fantastic beaches all around. The rooms are great and the property has a very good feel to it. I had chosen a demi-pension option which was good on value. The food at dinner was OK. My only real disappointment was a feeling of being rushed through the courses. A little more leisure would have made the experience much better. Breakfast was, however, very good. If I had to fault the facilities it would be because of noisy plumbing.

We did not stay in the hotel but had dinner in te restaurant.
The personel was very friendly. Nevertheless, the food was very disappointing and relatively pricy in comparison to other restaurants in Mimizan.
We do not recommend this address for dinner.

This hotel welcomes cyclists, being situated alongside the cycle path and with a dedicated cycle garage. We were made to feel welcome and the owner was very helpful, also letting us use their washing line (thankfully, no petty rules regarding clothes washing in the room).Owing to the high season, we were only allowed a demi-pension reservation (half board), which turned out to be very good value.
The room was small, with a tiny shower room, which was more like a cupboard. There was some noise in the early morning from the nearby road. For breakfast and dinner we ate on the terrace which was very pleasant. Food was typical of the region and very well presented. Excellent service. We would certainly return.
