Secure car parking couple of streets away. Really lovely hotel unfortunately we were only here one night would have loved to have stayed longer. Very clean and lovely comfortable bed.

Breakfast was excellent although one of the waitresses wasn't very pleasant but the other one more than made up for it.

Would definitely return.

We stayed here last year and returned again on our travels as we had enjoyed it so much. We were assigned the same room that overlooked the swimming pool. We noticed this had been improved even more and now had a water feature as well. The rooms as last time were airy, clean, well-maintained and had all the expected amenities. Shower could have been a bit more powerful, but that is a minor point. The breakfast was of a high standard, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a wide selection on offer. The hotel has a bar which is managed by a friendly staff, and they have started a wine-tasting bar. The hotel's situation is at the end of the high street and very accessible. On Saturdays the whole town is taken over by a huge market. A wonderful sight to consider building into your stay. [This causes diversions around the town, so not the best day to consider checking out on if you have a car!] The hotel has a secure garage at €10 a day. Definitely worth the money as parking is scarce. We would return again, as we love the hotel and the town. The only slight disappointment was that there was no longer a full restaurant running at the hotel, only a snack/tapas menu. However staying this the town is brimming with restaurants so you will not go hungry.

Room Tip: Rooms at back quieter as not on road or overlooking town.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and had a very pleasant stay. I think we may have had one of the larger rooms which was spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. The service was very good. It was nice to use the pool after a hot day out, which was clean albeit small, with a lovely sun terrace.
The breakfast was very good and reasonably priced.
The only annoyance we had was problem with the hot water. We only had luke warm water the first day which sorted itself out within 24 hours. We did mention this to the desk who assured us they could find no problems. It did reccur on our last day but by then the weather was so hot, luke warm water was OK.
And the car park really is only a 5 min walk. I've taken longer than that at some hotels, that whilst having parking on the premises, are so large, it takes forever to get to the car park.
I would definitely stay there again.

We had 3 rooms for 3 days, the basic doubles at the back of the hotel. These actually have the advantage that they look onto the pool and are quieter than the suites at the front which we had on our first stay. Having said that the suites are lovely.

Not sure why people would be negative about the reception, all the staff are very pleasent. I guess it helps to say your "pleases and thankyous" in your best pigeon french and try smiling, but having stayed there twice in 2 years I can't speak more highly of the place.

The owner Dominique Florentin was lovely, as was her daughter. Most of the staff speak English well, certainly better than our French and those that didnt were still very helpfull.

The location is amazing, the SPA and pool are excellant and overall if you are visiting Sarlat then I would certainly reccomend this hotel.

Room Tip: There isn't a restaraunt hence the rating, but breakfasts are good Go for the standard rooms at the back, unless a wet room shower warrants the extra money.

We stayed at Plaza Madeleine in June 2012 and were delighted with our choice. We upgraded to a club room with a view to the pool area. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable with good quality linens. The hotel is conveniently situated for Sarlat's old town with it's many restaurants and the secure parking for hotel residents is less than a four minute stroll away.

The breakfast buffet is good value with a wide selection of pastries, cereals, fruits and the orange juice is freshly squeezed. The reception staff were always helpful.

We would definitely stay in this hotel when we return to Sarlat in the future.
