Team Bowen gave us a very warm welcome and we were greeted with a glass of wine and they were so accommodating in helping with luggage. Our room (Tapestry) is beautiful; romantic, relaxing and absolutely spotless! The bed was very comfortable and the shutters and curtains made the room cool in the heat of the summer. The house is in-keeping with the medieval centre, the decor of our room was the ideal mixture of old and modern: 4 poster bed, tapestry wall hangings alongside a modern and efficient bathroom and shower. The breakfast was amazing! The fruit, sourced from the local market divine and beautifully presented. The Bowens were keen to help with advice and restaurant bookings and we really enjoyed their company over a glass of wine and they were happy to give suggestions for things to do and day trips.

Room Tip: The tapestry room is wonderfully cool and the bed is very comfortable.

La Lanterne was just such a lovely spot, just close enough to be near the goings-on in Sarlat. My little room (actually, the room called La Lanterne) was so comfortable and cozy. I rested so well and would return in a moment.
But the best part of the stay was the wonderful hospitality on the part of the owners. Terry was more than accomodating, even sending her brother-in-law to meet me as a pulled my bag up the hill from the main part of town.
If ever I return to Sarlat, I will make my plans around being able to stay at La Lanterne.

Three days in wonderful Sarlat were made even more enjoyable by the warmth and friendliness of our hosts ... The Bowens!
Great location.
Great accommodation.
Great breakfasts (before we would venture out on another day's sight seeing).
And a welcome destination (at the end of a long day)
Nothing ever a problem. And lots of laughs.
And poignant too with Debbie's husband seriously ill.
A stay I shall never forget.

Room Tip: Room at front has sensational view of the church and medieval tower

We had the privilege of staying at La Lanterne for 7 nights in early September. From the moment we had our first correspondence from the lovely Terri to the minute we left we felt like a part of the La Lanterne family. Terri and Roy have created the most incredible B&B and from the moment you enter the courtyard you feel like you are home. The immaculately clean environment, wonderful ambience, very central location and beautifully decorated rooms are a credit to the La Lanterne team. Terri graciously met us at the bus stop and her warm welcome was so appreciated. Special touches abound including a gorgeous communal living area, sunny courtyard and the most delicious breakfasts but all this is surpassed by the kindness of Terri and

her merry group of helpers. La Lanterne was definitely the highlight of our European adventure
and will always remembered with great fondness.

Room Tip: All rooms are special and spotless.

How else can we honestly describe our stay and this beautiful B&B. It started with Richard helping us find the place because my GPS was goofy and he went above and beyond that day to help us. It is located in old town just steps from all the shops and great restaurants. Stayed during the middle of the week and got to experience the farmers market, that in itself was a treat. The breakfasts that Richard prepared exceeded our expectations! Our room was the Wisteria room very nice and quiet with nice modern bathroom facilities. Terri was very gracious and only regret was that we weren't able to meet Roy, but hopefully he will know our thoughts and prayers are with him. The B&B is only minutes from all the history which is in the outline areas. Thank you for making Laura's birthday trip such a wonderful and perfect experience in your home. If we ever have another chance to visit Sarlat, you can count on us contacting you folks first. Do yourself a favor definitely check this place out first in Sarlat, you will not be disappointed....Phil Hudelson
