It was our 4th time at these apartments, and I'm sure it won't be our last. David (the owner) is helpful and informative. Room are clean and positioned perfectly right in town. (Bit noisy if you staying underneath another one-you can hear people walking around above). Great to be able to do our washing and exchange an English book. Wifi available for a small charge.

Great hotel, great location, great value. Quiet room for three, with a kitchen so you can go out and get lots of yummy food from the market and come back and enjoy it in your room. The room was clean and laundry facilities were free. We stayed in the Fenelon Room, good for a couple and our teenage son. Friendly staff. Can't imagine a better place to stay in Sarlat.

We stayed here in December for 2 nights and were very happy with our choice. We were given a free upgrade to a large apartment known as The Medici which could easily have slept 6 even though we were only 3. The Medici apartment has a medium size kitchen, a large room with two single beds and a sofa bed which also doubles as the main lounge room and then a separate bedroom with a queen size bed. The toilet is separate to the bathroom of which there is only one which could cause problems if you were a group of 6, for us it was absolutely fine. The decor was lovely and everything was very clean and it was nice to have a lot of room in which to spread out. The added bonus of this place is the free laundry facility, very handy indeed. This place is made up of a couple of buildings which have been brought together under the one umbrella. Our apartment was in the main building that fronted onto the main street in Sarlat but having said that it was very quiet and we heard no street noise. Sarlat is a semi pedestrianised town with cars being allowed but having to drive very slowly so there is very little through traffic as most people park in the car parks scattered around the outside of the old city and walk everywhere. This is probably the only downside of staying right in the centre of town as parking is difficult to find particularly when you arrive on the weekend in the middle of Christmas celebrations and the town is packed with day trippers. We found the best thing to do was just grab a spot anywhere we could and then once the crowds had died down around 7:00pm we moved our car up to one of the spots on the street directly outside the front of the hotel. The hotel is a little hard to find once you have parked your car as the car parks are scattered all over the place so I suggest you come here armed with a map of the town so that no matter where you end up having to leave your car you can find your way more easliy. There is a small supermarket only a couple of minutes walk away so you can stock up on provisions easily. There are many lovely restaurants all a stones throw from your apartment and the town of Sarlat is really beautiful. I would recommend this place for those wanting more room than the average hotel and definitely for anyone who is planning a longer stay in the Dordogne area.

Our November stay in the Richelieu Room was comfortable, warm and convenient for a couple.
While we only saw the Richellieu Room, it had 4 rooms - bedroom, toilet, bathroom and combined kitchen, dining and lounge. The balcony off the lounge was available for use if needed.

Our stay for 4 nights permitted 3 days of private tour guide comfort and our days were: breakfast at the Villa des Consuls, out from 9am to 5pm and then a walk and dinner in the old city of Sarlat.

The villa was in the old city, was convenient to stores for supplies, if needed. We did not use the facility for our own cooking. We used tea making facilities and fridge to enjoy a cup of tea.

The Villa des Consuls is in the former main street, which is now a side street from the main road. A delight for access to the old city street walks and multiple restaurant choices.

Found it quiet, excellent internet and warm and cosy.

Room Tip: Excellent heating and various room sizes. The Richelieu Room was our choice. NO swimming pool or R...

WE were 2 couples traveling around France for 18 days. We choose to stay here based on the reviews and I will say EXCELLENT. Rooms very updated, in town, garage for car and they did excellent recommendations for restaurants. We stayed 2 nights and even has free washers/dryers what a commodity. And if you want to do your own cooking after attending the famous Wednesday and saturday markets some rooms has full kitchen.

Nestled in the heart of the old town, this charming hotel had all the modern amenities we wanted plus a great location. They even had free laundry! There was a kitchenette that was sufficient for breakfast, more if we'd wanted. The staff was always helpful. The building is very old but completely renovated. By far the best place we stayed during our month in France. Sarlat was a highlight of our trip with great charm, a regional outdoor market and lots of great restaurants. We visited to tour the prehistoric caves in the region which was wonderful. Next time, I would rent a boat in Montignac and paddle the Vézère river.
