“Nice townhome in a very central location”

This townhome is pretty well equipped and located within pretty much a 2-5 minute walk to anywhere you'd want to go to in Sarlat. It's a location that I think is very hard to beat. The two bedrooms and upstairs are well appointed and nice. The downstairs living area is a bit tired (though kitchen is good).

We stayed here for five nights in July 2015 during a massive heat wave in western Europe (average temps at 99 degrees F) and were terribly concerned before we arrived about how warm it would be. With that unusual weather, the top floor was too warm for sleeping but think it would be absolutely fine in more normal conditions. The thick stone walls kept the second and first floors somewhat pleasant even with the scorching conditions outside.

Sarlat is a wonderful town to visit. So beautiful, and the restaurants and markets are fantastic.

Terri arranged our rental, and was fantastic.

“Do yourself a favour and stay here!!”
Reviewed May 1, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

The Townhouse is ideally situated in Sarlat- easy reach of shops, restaurants, market, parking etc. The house was clean , well equipped and the hosts were very helpful- numerous suggestions were given for places to eat and visit - and those we tried were excellent!. Booking was a breeze with Terri who was prompt with email replies and very helpful as well.
It was the ideal location from which to explore the Dordogne- we hope to return!!

“Perfect location in lovely Sarlat”
Reviewed December 16, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We stayed here with another couple for 5 days in September 2013 on the suggestion of the owner of La Lanterne B&B. Although we originally sought B&B accommodation, the Townhouse proved to be a great alternative. It is conveniently located at the north end of the old town, just off Rue de Le Republic, on a little winding alley. We loved the location, the quietness, and the conveniences of a kitchen for keeping all that good French cheese and wine handy! The Townhouse has three floors; kitchen, living room and powder room on the main floor with bedrooms and bathrooms on the second and third floors. The bed was comfortable and there was ample drawer space and a rack for clothes. The entry on the second floor has a heavy curtain rather than a door, but we didn’t find it to be a problem. The kitchen was well equipped and stocked with basic condiments and supplies. Local bakeries and small grocery stores were nearby and free parking was available at lots about 200 metres away. The wifi worked well. We would highly recommend staying at this townhouse.

“excellent location within the city, and very comfortable for two couples.”
Reviewed October 7, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

well located townhouse that sleeps two couples. located within the medieval city. 2 minutes walk to the main square, one minute to the main street. quiet at night. ensuite bathrooms and a separate toilet on the ground floor are very good. good sized comfortable bedrooms. only one drawback are the steep stairs to the third floor bedroom. overall highly recommended quality villa and value for money.

“Beautiful house, lovely owner, helpful agent”
Reviewed September 15, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Stayed for two weeks in August when Sarlat is very busy. The location was pretty central but quiet and private. The house was well equipped with some stylish touches. Modern bathrooms, beautiful beds. Kitchen well equipped.

I had a couple of stupid questions before we went and Terry was patient and helpful. She sent us some very useful driving instructions, that proved very helpful. The owner, Nicky, popped in on our second day to check everything was okay and that we were happy.

Location was very central for touring the Dordogne and although you had to look for parking spaces (in August) we always found one as the town has several parking areas nearby. Saturdays are very busy so arriving a little later after some of the market shoppers had left makes things easier.

Rue De La Charite is difficult to find on street view etc as it is a small alley way but the house is at the very beginning of it so not far to carry luggage. Plenty of very good restaurants in Sarlat and Nicky had left lots of info and tips in the house for visitors. The house was a great rental and the attention to detail from both Nicky and Terry should ensure it stays that way for many years to come.

Good wifi in the house and a TV with UK channels available.

Thanks for a lovely holiday

“Wonderful Dordogne Vacation Spot”
Reviewed August 11, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This house was everything we'd hoped for - excellent location just off city center, clean and well-equipped. We met the landlord at the start and end of our week. She was most gracious and informative.

We enjoyed walking around Sarlat, but it was also a great location for visiting places as far afield as Carcassonne, Oradour-sur-Glane and Bergerac.

Next time we visit southwest France, we'll stay there again. I would strongly recommend it to anyone.

“Perfect location and wonderful owner”
Reviewed July 22, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We adored this lovely home. The location is perfect, two minutes from the main pedestrian area and good restaurants. We were traveling with friends and they had the 1st floor bedroom while we had the top floor. Each has it's own bathroom, large bed and ample space for suitcases and spreading out. There is an nice kitchen and small living room on the entry level. The kitchen is complete with dish washer and washing machine. All linens are provided. The wifi is excellent and there's a nice TV / DVD setup.
The weather was unseasonably hot the week we were there. We were glad there were fans in each of the bedrooms.
The owner is delightful. Nicky came by on Saturday morning and was a fountain of information about the town, the local culture, things to see, places to eat. The instruction book she provides about the home also contains restaurant reviews that are so well written I'm convinced Nicky writes novels on the side.
Parking is convenient to the house, just up the hill, but unloading and loading suitcases is a bit more of a challenge. Rue de la Charité is a medieval alley, not a street. We just pulled over to the curve, set our flashers, and unloaded. It's a 30 foot walk to the front door.
The 10th century winding staircase to the bedrooms is charming but not suitcase friendly. Count on 400 calories of effort for each suitcase, which needs to be carried in an upright position.
We would consider staying no where else in Sarlat were we to return.
