“Beautiful location, lovely gite, friendly hosts”
Reviewed August 26, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Dear Ben and Maria
Thank you for a great holiday. The gite was in a lovely location - perfect for seeing lots of interesting places. It was great to have the pool and grounds and even though we were sharing them with the other guests there was plenty of space. Maria's 'What's on locally' for the week guide was really helpful and meant that we got to sample some real french local activities. Ben was super helpful and approachable. The opportunity to be chauffeur driven to the Dordoyne by Ben and then to kayak down past some amazing scenery and be collected when it suits should not be missed.
We would highly recommend this accommodation but don't want to say any more positives incase next time we want to come and stay it is so busy that we can't book it!

“Beautiful gite, very peaceful but only 10-15 mins away from so many fantastic places.”
Reviewed August 23, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This was our 4th holiday in france and by far the best. The gite has everything you need and is in a stunning peaceful location but with plenty to do on your doorstep.
The owners are very welcoming and helpful- nothing was too much trouble. We hired bikes and kayaks from Ben, both of which are a must to explore the amazing area. We had such a great time that we are hoping to return in 2018 for 2 weeks :-)

“A gem in the Dordogne”
Reviewed August 21, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Having long wanted to visit the Dordogne I came across these Gites on owners direct and they looked perfect. We booked the Cote du Grel, little realising how fluid our holiday party was going to be. We ended up as a party of five, but the accommodation worked out perfectly, Two teenage girls in the downstairs twin with its ensuite, mother in law upstairs in the lovely double room (upstairs bathroom as well!!) and my husband and I had the sofa bed downstairs. We were slightly apprehensive about sleeping on it for a week, but it has to be the most comfortable sofa bed we have ever slept on!!
It was lovely to arrive to such a home from home, the gite had everything you needed and the bonus of a lovely balcony eating area, which thanks to the beautiful weather we used all the time. The LeClerc supermarket in Sarlat was a 10-15 minute drive away for a big shop and great for getting BBQ food.
The gites feel like they are miles from nowhere, yet are just a couple of minutes drive from Domme. We never did get round to exploring the woods attached to the property, but the garden and pool area are lovely. Most of the time despite the other gites also being occupied we had the pool to ourselves.
There is so much to see and do in the area, Infact mostly we never drove for more than about 20mins, the longest trip being just over and hour away to visit Gouffre du Padirac and Rocamadour (well worth doing, but book the caves well in advance if you can to save time) One of the highlights was going out in the canoes. For just 10 euros per person for the 2hr paddle (perfect for us) Ben will drop you off at the start point and pick you up when you reach the end. The Canadian canoes seat three (one man canoes also available) and looked far better than many of the hire boats we saw on the river.
Ben and family have put together lots of good information about things to see and do in the area, but if you have any questions they are always on hand for helpful hints and tips and advice. We would not hesitate to stay again, although I suspect when word gets round about how good the gites are, booking may become an issue!!
