If you ever plan to see Brantome "the Venice of the Dordogne" then I would definately reccomend this hotel. Set in picturesque grounds, the converted mill's rooms have been equipped to a high standard and are very spacious. There are plenty of nice / luxiourious hotels about in the world but what sets this place apart is the attitude and effort made by the staff. On arrival we were greeted by the Husband and Wife team that run the Hotel and whilst we weren't exactly fluent in each others language the message was portrayed that they were pleased to have us stay and that nothing was too much effort on their behalf.

We ate in the Restaurant one night and the food was excellent as well as the service, my only critisism of the Hotel would be the cost of the food / drinks, however its so unusual to get such good service that the pain of paying €7 for a coffee after dinner was made easier to swallow.

This boutique hotel is a labour of love created by the owners, Gisele and Michel. No detail has been forgotten. They are fantastic hosts, and make everyone feel right at home. We spent four evenings with them and each day was great. Dinner was always fantastic, and probably the best we've had in a long time. The wine list is also great. David, the waiter provided excellent and friendly service. Can't forget to mention breakfast, as it was also very good. All in all, we would highly recommend to anyone!!

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident as we were early for dinner and were walking along the riverside. The setting and ambiance are to die for.
Staff kindly let us sit down anyway and enjoy a drink by the river before the restaurant started service. The food and wine were excellent - a little pricey - but when on Holiday......

My wife and I spent two weeks vacationing in France and our three days at Moulin de Vigonac was the highlight.

The staff was great. We enjoyed the warm welcome, pleasant conversations, ideas for touring in the area, and some history of the hotel and region.

The restaurant was amazing. We arrived planning to eat there one night and then go and explore further. the chef had excellent recommendations our first night. David our waiter had great wine recommendations from local, regional, and more distant sources. The ambience was perfect ... We ate there all three evenings and breakfasts. The food was some of the best we had during our vacation.

The facilities were very nice. Beautiful park setting, close to Brantome, clean, quiet, excellent condition...

We have already recommended to several friends and will definitely return.

We booked the Helene room at the Moulin De Vigonac for one night whilst touring the Dordogne.
The room was very spacious and decorated just to my taste with a good sized bathroom. The hotel & its surroundings were very peaceful & tres jolie! There is also a swimming pool which looked very inviting but alas I did not find the time for a paddle.

We decided to eat at the restaurant and the food was very impressive. My husband went for the menu tradition (he raved about the lamb) and I went for the Fillet of Beef with Bearnaise sauce which might just of been the best steak I've ever had. Even though I was stuffed to the brim (due to canapés, sorbet, fresh bread etc..) I still squeezed in a creme brûlée. The top was a teensy bit too burnt for my liking but everything else was delicious. We washed it all down with a wonderful fruity white wine which was actually more expensive than my husbands meal however I would definitely recommend eating here as the quality of the food and quantities are very reasonable.

The next day we had breakfast on the terrace which was 16 euros each, again it was worth it as it was delicious and we did not need lunch.

Our hosts were very welcoming and the service was exemplary, we would definitely stay here again.

Brantome itself is very pretty to stroll around & definitely worth a visit.

We stayed two nights and ate at the restaurant both nights. The food was incredible. The chef's truffled foie gras is among the best I have ever eaten (and I love foie gras!). The lobster "salad" was exquisite with the lobster served in the tail perfectly poached accompanied by a variety of garden fresh steamed vegetables. The duck was of course perfect. The desserts were lovely. The staff is expert and even suggested a local wine to pair with the foie gras instead of the usual Sautrene and it was perfect. The dining room charming and quite romantic.
Our room was lovely and we had a private terrace overlooking the pool. It was quiet and relaxing. Do the Gastronomy package that includes a boat ride and a cavern visit; otherwise you might not leave the premises at all!

The resort is an old restored mill, surrounded by a big park. There is also an outdoor swiming pool. You can reach Brantome in about 20 minutes by walk. It's a small resort, with only few rooms. Room was really nice, clean and big, with adeguate fornitures. The bathroom was high-level too. Breakfast costed 16 Euro for person, but it does the worth. The owner, a lady, was always kind. I payed about Euro 200 for a double room, without breakfast and I found this price fair for the quality of the resort. I strongly reccomend it.
