Wow, a great find, one of the best meals I have ever had in France. Driving around looking for a restaurant open on a chilly December night we spotted a bistro full of locals and decided that was probably a good sign. The restaurant was full with only a table for two available. Atmosphere was inspiring; just knew something good was going on, and it was. Dinner in a local eatery, with wonderful food delivered by cheerful, patient, industrious and enthusiastic staff, in a restaurant with modern, minimalist decor. Terrific offerings on set menu and we were perusing the a la carte menu on which everything looked terrific when the waitress brought along the specials board which just made selecting our dishes even more difficult. In the end my wife had the fish soup which was very tasty followed by the kebab of scallops marinated in whiskey. I had half a dozen oysters followed by two main courses; the veal kidneys in a honey and mustard sauce and the Andouillette (250 grams). Both were absolutely, splendidly delicious. The chef kindly agreed to us having the goats cheese salad with our main courses instead of chips. All the food was excellent, fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection. The bottle of white wine and bottle of red wine recommended by the waitress were both wonderful; in flavour and value. We shared a chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream for dessert. All in all this was an excellent experience, food, wine, service; everything was absolutely superb. Exceptional value for money. I would actually stay in Arcachon just to have the joy of experiencing this restaurant again.
