We booked the Hotel du Park online and, as ever in such cases, were not sure if the reality lived up to the promise. it did. We loved it. We'll go again.
Our room, with balcony, overlooked the oak-and-pine wood between the hotel and the sea. We were welcomed by birdsong - mainly blackbirds and pigeons. The beach was just a five-minute walk through the woods. We had a decent-sized bedroom, separate WC and bathroom, balcony, breakfast (a plentiful supply of brioche, croissants, butter and jams) delivered to the room within 2-3 minutes of requesting, and wi-fi (in our case, in the foyer, as we were inaccessible on the third floor). The owners were lovely and could not have been more helpful. There's no restaurant, but at the beach, the Restaurant du Soleil offers everything from coffee or wine to a full meal, and the quality is good.Sitting there watching the sun going down across the Bassin was magical.More
