What can I say? Excellent location, fabulous food. Lowish prices. Sarment D'Or is just off the main sreet in Riquewihr: a good base for exploring Alsace. Parking is included, in a reserved space just outside the town walls (about 200m from the hotel). One can drive to the door to drop off or pick up suitcases, but the town is mostly traffic free. We stayed eight days, and had two different rooms. The first was a simple room, with a double bed. The second room (Hortensia) had a similar bed, but also a lobby area, and a small box rom with a third bed. The extra bedroom was redundant for a couple, but Hortensia has a better bathroom. Neither has a proper shower. The restaurant closed on Sunday evening and all day Monday, so we only had three dinners in Sarment D'Or. It does not specialise in the local cuisine, but Sarment D'Or was the best we found in Riquewihr. There are downsides: no pool, no common sitting area, no bar, and the street outside (Rue du Cerf) can get very noisy around 7am-am on bin collection day, or when supplies are delivered to the hotels on the street.
