“This is the place to stay in Alsace”
Reviewed October 8, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Riquewihr is a perfect city from which to see Alsace and the Alsatian Hart is the perfect apartment to do it from. It is well located adjacent to the city wall and the property is spotless, updated, and equipped with everything you might need. Property manager, Valerie, is available and VERY Helpful. It is also an EXCELLENT VALUE for the money. Don't miss this one.

“A fairy tale come true”

We spent a wintery week in a fairy tale come true. This is truly a wonderful place to spend time. The apartment was so comfortable we wanted to move in permanently. It lives up to all the charm that Riquewihr has to offer. Beautifully decorated and truly comfortable from the bed to the couches and the large bathtub with all amenities you could want. We wanted to come back for a few days this summer, but the dates we wanted were already taken. Be sure to make your reservations early and not miss this magical place. We received good recommendations for restaurants and wines of the area. Helpful owners and staff made the experience even better. There is so much to see and do in the area. Then in the evening when all the day trippers leave you have the town almost to yourselves. We loved the storks too.

“Location, location, location”

Great location - easy drive from Strasbourg Airport, easily located, ample parking only 2 mins walk from apartment (located in ramparts on edge of town) and easy 5 mins walk from centre of town & restaurants etc. Apartment itself is a admirable example of restoration - has character, but is also clean, comfortable, modern, user-friendly with 2 small but usable balconies. Also has pleasant views of the vineyards through bedroom windows. Five nights stay in this apartment was an ideal & idyllic break and Riquewihr is the perfect base for an explore of Alsace.

Management Response

Thank you for spending some time with us in Riquewihr and sharing your experience. Rebuilding that old historical winery and designing the apartments was quite a technical (and administrative) challenge. We did our best and as we do it always, even for the smallest of our places, we decorate the apartment as if it was for ourselves to live in it. Knowing that you like it is then our best reward. Thank you again and be welcome back anytime!

Thank you for staying with us. We rebuilt that old 16th century winery and were able to create 6 new holiday apartments surrounding a small garden which is quite rare in a medieval village. Just a hundred meters away from the main street of the village and facing a famous vineyard the location is ideal.
Riquewihr is the jewel of the Alsace Wine Route and looks today exactly as it did in the 16th Century.
It is also a very practical base to visit all Alsace, the Vosges mountains and even nearby Germany and Switzerland.

“Holiday with a difference”
Reviewed October 6, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Staying in the Remparts of this beautiful medieval village was a new experience for all of us. The location was excellent for visiting the area and experiencing the beautiful countryside and its wines. Alsation Hart Apartment is very comfortable with all amenities plus basic supplies to welcome us. the security system of not requiring a key was excellent and the parking extremely helpful.
We all felt however that it would have been helpful to have instructions for the equipment in English and a full description of channels on the TV too. There were a very wide range of channels but mainly news only programmes in English. With hopefully a lot of visitors coming from NZ and Australia and sadly not speaking French it would definitely be of benefit to have more English instructions.
Overall it was a wonderful experience in such a beautiful part of France.

Liked best: Loction and general ambience with beautiful views of vineyards and across to the Black Forest.
Liked least: Lack of English instructions and directions re the TV equipment.
