This is probably the largest dining room of Obernai and due to that received a lot of tourists comes by coach.
If you have no other choice, you can go there and will have typical Alsatian food but the quality is "standard" at the most.
The dining room is very noisy.

We ate here twice during our four day stay in Obernai. It's an experience. The place is huge, decorated in ""Alsace rustic"and is full every night. The menu has plenty to offer and the Alsatian cusiine is great. The place is known for its Alsatian specialties (of which I had several), but I can say that the non meat dishes (my wife prefers fish) were also very good. It was good enough that we returned a second time. This is a place not to miss in Obernai!

This is the kind of place you find in every touristy town. It is in good location, has been there for a very long time and has lost the will to be good. It just continues to exist and serve average food with average decor, plastic grubby menus and nothing exciting to offer to the customers it no longer wishes to please. Needs a good shove to take advantage of its great setting to offer customers a memorable experience. If it did so, it would also easily distinguish itself from the other very unremarkable establishments in close proximity.

From the reviews it's clear that this place divides opinion. We've eaten there many times over the years and the fact that we keep going back shows we like it.

Excellent and copious food with emphasis on local products - and the desserts are really local too. Flammkueche is not on the menu but they serve it without a murmur: 9€ for one with extra cheese! The decor is impressive as you would expect from an old corn market. Yes, sometimes the service can be a bit off-hand when the staff are rushed off their feet but this is not a place to be in a hurry.

Some reviewers seem to regard the Halle aux Bles as a tourist trap. Well certainly in the middle of the winter it is full of locals and the atmosphere is nicely relaxed.

A restaurant not to be missed if atmosphere and couleur locale are what you're after. The restaurant is located in an old wooden-framed building, decorated with local artifacts. The food is mainly Alsatian, with Sauerkraut receiving due attention, but also (in the fall season) wild boar and deer, and nice Alsatian wines to go with it. The place teems with people, but is more convivial than noisy.
