The hotel is in Munster, department of Haut-Rhin (68), Alsace Region, in France. Next to a park good place with the torrent passing below it, so, nice environment. Large parking available a lot of places to park but watch out to not arrive to late around 6 or 7 pm all the places are taken.
The outside of the hotel looks like if it would be a chalet made of wood inside, but once you get inside it is not that cozy and classy.

Upon arrival, no luggage handler to help us with luggage. But maybe in France, 3 stars hotels do not have an obligation to have a luggage handler to help you out with your big suite-cases
As we entered, the reception desk was empty and the receptionist, a girl, was busy in the back office doing some paper work, that was fine, until we realized she was not having a quick look at the reception ever, so we had to call her, and she came to us at the same slow speed as if she was only coming back toward the desk, as if there was no client, no spontaneity, no dynamism, like usually lets say for example “oh sorry sir...“ and running toward the client, the client has to wait that she is finished her administrative tasks and it seems these tasks are more important than welcoming clients! Once she was close to us she said with a dry cold behavior yes sir etc... we felt like we had reserved a room in a motel, as the girl was respectful but not warm, smiling, to the minimum, certainly not an international level of welcoming! And she gave us a little paper with the code of the front door in case we might go out at night. As at night there is no receptionist after 11pm or so. So we were very surprised that a 3 stars hotel does not have a night receptionist. Further more the way she explained to us this and pointing out were to go for our room was again dry, cold!

We took an outdated elevator, that was very small! It worked fine though but not fitting to the supposed classiness of that hotel, on top of that it is the one that the room cleaning staff uses too! In this elevator there was still an ash tray and someone had even left an apple core on it!

The room had the air con off or on cold as usual because when you do not slide in the magnetic card the heater does not work, and even then, when it was on, it was cold for a long time. I had to go down to ask to get it fixed.

The room could be big but since they tried to arrange it like a little studio, it is charged with a lot of oldish decoration and things!
The bed is not a king size maybe a queen size but comfortable enough, just OK! In the room there is a section for eating that wastes a lot of good space!
TV channels are all locales French, Alsatian and German. Only one truly foreigner is BBC the British news channels, no CNN, no CBC, no FOX and no HBO!
In the bathroom there is the bathtub that had a weird shaped door that is not fully closed so when you take a shower the water gets all over the floor!

This hotel has spa sauna also, they provide bath robes and towels but no slippers.

This hotel, we think, has only 3 stars due to its sauna spa section, without this it would be no more than a regular 2 stars hotel. As said above it seems they target a local clientele rather than an international one.

The room per night is to expensive. Even if that includes access to sauna. Not good price/quality value. And due to the lack of warmth of welcoming attitude we will not return.

I organized a 3 day residential meeting at the Verte Vallée in September 2012 for 30 people and was completely satisfied with the experience. The staff were extremely helpful and professional. All the practical aspects of the meeting were handled perfectly. Our main contact at the hotel was Johanna who did a great job. All the attendees and accompanying spouses were very happy too. We would certainly go back one day.

We stayed for 6 nights with breakfast and dinner included - just as well because there are no decent restaurants in Munster ! All the meals were excellent , the hotel restaurant is managed by a very nice and professional man who ensures everyone is happy with their meals.A really good variety and selection each night.
Just a pity most staff only speak French, but the restaurant manager does speak good English .
The basic rooms are a bit small ,but adequate , with good bathroom and room service.
The hotel has good facilities like indoor pool, gym , sauna etc . And the location is next to a large park so it was quiet. Internet wifi was free.
Only short drives , about 30 minutes to visit all the beautiful villages - we loved Riquiwhir the best and Ribeuville.
The hotel is in good condition and has easy free parking.
So we enjoyed our stay here and we are sure all other guests in the future will also.

This is the third time in ten years that I have stayed at the Verte Valley, when passing through the Vosges region. It is a nice modern(ish) hotel with indoor pool etc .... etc ..... Contrary to other reviews, I found all staff most helpful, friendly and courteous. I had a superior room which was well equipped and very comfortable - I booked at the half-board rate which was reasonable for this class of hotel, and the food was of an excellent standard - breakfast was extremely good.
My only moan is that I found the dinner dining experience a little 'stuffy' for this day and age - the waitress staff were excellent and the dining room manager was ran the entire operation with military precision, but my bottle of wine was not left on my table so that I could help myself. It was located on a side table, being the waitresses job to observe when I required a top-up ! When I asked for the wine to be left on my table (as the poor waitress was very busy and I had an empty glass) my request was treated with a modicum of shock and disdain !
Overall, it's a nice hotel, good staff and food of a high standard - what more do you want ?
Oh, and they do special 'package deals' - see their website for details.

Room Tip: Go for a 'superior' room - not that much more expensive, but better positioned and equipped.

We had the Wi-Fi without any problem so the problem mentioned by TsippyLeon, was probably temporary. The rooms are comfy but not luxurious. The spa ans swimming pool are fine and there are gym and aquagym lessons twice a day, a supervised playground for the little ones, some activities organised by the hotel (e.g. visit of a farm, buff observation in the mountain nearby etc...). It took us tw days to discover that we did not have to follow the busy road to walk to the "city" but that we could actually just go through the parc on the other side of the small river boarding th egarden of the hotel. We did not try to restauarnt there, prefering to try the village ones. We had the breakfast on the first day, it's nice but over rated, we went to "la tour d'anny" and other bakeries instead, it was a much better quality for value then the hotel breakfast.

Room Tip: We were OK with our room giving on the garden, but we heard some people complaining about the noise...

Let me start by saying the hotel is very nice and comfortable, clean ,quiet and inviting. I have two warnings, though. Even though it states on its entrance that there is free wi-fi, we couldn't get any. And when I went down to the reception to ask about it, there was another gentleman there who was complaining about the same issue, for the second day, so... figure it out yourselves. My other warning is the restaurant. We had to eat dinner at the hotel, because of the rain, and it was too expensive and did not deliver. It looks posh and so are the prices, but we ate better food in small restaurants on the streets of Alsace. But the rooms are great!! and in June, it was not pricy at all.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet, even those who face the parking lot, like the one we had.

Surrounded by a park on the edge of the town centre, with a very classy feel to it and clean, modern rooms, this hotel was excellent. The restaurant is fantastic - do visit it - although the breakfast is expensive and nothing special.
