I stayed two nights in a renovated room.
it had very good facilities and was spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were however, very ordinary and very expensive at 19 euros.. so skip them . The car park behind the hotel can get very crowded also.

We stayed one night at this hotel, we had booked two nights but decided to move on. Unfortunately for us, though great for the hotel, there was a conference going on, we struggled to get a place in the hotel's car park on arrival. The ground floor was crowded with people. The reception area is very modern and smart, the check-in was courteous. We had two rooms one double and one singe. I had not thought to ask for non-smoking so my daughter's single room did smell of smoke - so do specify when you book. Our double room was very spacious, with two small double beds and a single bed. I did not specify that a shower was preferred so our bathroom had a bath with a shower attachment (no shower curtain) so not able to shower. It seems that hotels in France now seem to favour hard floors rather than carpets in the bedroom,
if you come away without slippers it is quite chilly, I think it may also contribute to the fact that in the morning from 6am we could clearly hear the TV and conversation in the adjoining room, that along with the rumbling from the trams in the road made sleep impossible. Because the hotel was so busy the noise factor was an issue, with doors banging and people laughing and talking.
Perhaps if the hotel had been not quite so busy our stay would have been more comfortable,
but the hotel cannot be responsible for the noise their clients make. However if you stay at this hotel it would be a good idea to have a rear facing room to escape the noise of the trams, specify non-smoking room, and also confirm the room has a shower if you want one. The breakfast buffet was ok, but again because of the numbers of people it was rather decimated by the time we got there with the jam pots empty and looking a bit untidy which is rather off putting.
Staff were courteous rather than friendly, but they were obviously busy. Forgot to mention that the beds were very comfortable and if the noise level had not been so great would probably have had a nice nights sleep.

On a tour of the Black forest area organised by Europa Tours of Floriana, Malta we were on halfboard at the Bristol Hotel in Mulhouse, close to the border with Germany and Switzerland. We stayed from 28 Dec 2012 to 4 Jan 2013.
The food service was rather funny or shall I say pathetic. Where in France do they tell you to hold onto your knife and fork used for the first serving to be used again for the main dish?
And it was always a knife and a fork, even for spaghetti.
On New year's eve it was supposed to be a gala dinner with different wine for every serving. When I asked for the wine to accompany the cheese I was told that it does not taste good so it wasn't being served.
Which hotel rations butter to one portion per diner?
And we were promised a small band for the gala dinner. But only a disc jockey turned up. Maybe Europa Tours are to blame for this.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Hotel Bristol and we have been very happy with the rooms and the welcome received on each visit. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. It is a pleasure to stay here. Also the carpark is off street and secure. This time we stayed 4 nights and visited the Christmas markets in Mulhouse, Colmar and Strasbourg and at the end of the day dined at L’Entrecote restaurant about a 5 minute walk from the hotel where again we were welcomed and the clientele were mainly locals which is a good sign. It is an ideal place to stay for visits to the automobile and train museums.

Stayed for just two nights to visit Schlumpf, but would liked to have stayed more. Received an upgrade to a suite (had booked a double room), room was fantastic. Gated free parking was nice, hotel is on tramline direct to Schlumpf or old town, several restaurants and shopping places within a few minutes. Breakfast was extra, but high quality all around, and nice to stay in and relax on a cold dreary morning. Hotel is old but has an air of elegance to it, well maintained, would stay again.

Having stayed for 6 nights in the bristol hotel. We had two rooms on the forth floor for our family of five, one a twin, the other a triple room. The rooms were large, very clean and the beds comfortable (except the extra bed in the triple room). The hotel staff was very friendly and tried to supply whatever need we had.
Considering the hotel prices in Basel and in Colmar, I feel we got a very good deal in a very nice hotel. I'd go there again anytime.

We selected the Bristol due to its convenient location (near the historic center, the Auto Museum, and the Autoroute) and were delighted with our choice. Free gated parking is available adjacent to the hotel, the rooms although a bit dated are exceptionally clean, the staff very accommodating and friendly. The bathrooms are large and sparkling, the linens good quality, and the beds comfortable. We were initially worried about the sound from the street but found it quiet at night especially with the electric shutters pulled down. We stayed only one night but would like to return one day as we found Mulhouse a lovely city. Enjoyed a terrific dinner at Pic-Vic.
