This was one of our preferred wine villages on the wine route. it was really beautiful with the small alleys with the Alsace houses with their flowers and the low doors.
Seems very idyllic and not too touristic even if there were quite a lot of tourists.
Loved it !!

This small village of Eguisheim is a hidden gem, a purely stunning village of vast historical importance and sheer sheer beauty. If you visit Alsace, you should never miss this beautiful attraction - you'll be bowled over and remember to take your camera or you'll be ever so disappointed with yourself. Unfortunately only really reachable by car or by tour bus. The local bus service from Colmar does exist but it is very poor and only a few buses run daily.
The local car parks charge 3 euros for all day parking. Then go and explore to your leisure. The village is a circle and if you turn left anywhere, you'll end up walking round and back onto the high street from the right! All cobbled and multi-coloured Alsace houses from over 500 years ago, with wine tasting and beer breweries nearby. Plenty of food eateries, local markets some days and plenty of delightful bars and hidden shops and alleyways. You'll love it.
If you didn't know any different, it would be easy to think that this was built by 'Disney' as an attraction. Somehow, you do expect the 7 dwarfs to be walking down the small cobbled streets.... very very attractive medieval village. A true gem!

Weed around the old alleys for hours, took a lot of photos, marveled at the storks, and generally enjoyed ourselves.

For those who enjoy exploring pretty little villages then you should visit Eguisheim.
Quaint coloured houses that have been around for 100's of years.
You can walk around the village in about 30 minutes as its a series of smaller circles/
Great local pride makes this a great photo opportunity.

This little village is beautiful and has beautiful houses. It is circular so you can revolve around the center, where you find the church.
