Very disappointing experience. First of all we had the impression from the hotel's web page that it was situated on the beach. That was not the case. It was located on top of a big road and the room was so noicy we could not open the window! Not only the road was noicy, you could also hear everything from the room next door, especially the early alarm clock! The toilet which in France always is separate from the bathroom was so small you could hardly close the door. When we complained they did not want to change the room. On top of this in the reception they were not able to recommend restaurants, only one which by the way was nice, and last we found the hotel very over priced.

Room Tip: I would rather recommend you to look for an other hotel

Cher(e) membre Trip Advisor,

This will be our third trip to southern Corsica and our second stay at the Miramar Hotel. By far now our favorite place. Friendly and accomodating staff. Comfortable room and beds, great hotel amenities. Their restaurant deck has an amazing view of the sunset. Nice breakfast buffet with eggs made to order. The noise that some have mentioned is not an issue after all. We never had any trouble sleeping at all. We love the proximity of downtown and harbor. Can't wait to be back!

This boutique hotel has a nice view on the bay but we were surprised to realize that all rooms facing the sea are also facing the highway (a Route Nationale). They do have great windows to cancel the noise but still.. we wished we had known this before booking.

Strategically located between Ajaccio and Bonifacio, and several wonderful beaches, this Hotel improves the already magnificent experience in Corsica.
The service is kind all the times. The room view is also awesome, beach, Valinco gulf and green mountain complete the perfect scenario.
Room is perfect for the location and occasion.
The only remarks goes to the proximity to the road and food with prices much above average in the region, but the hotel stays close to the Propriano village with several good restaurant options.

I can see why some people complained about this hotel as being noisy. Indeed, it can be noisy, considering that the hotel is located exactly at the most important road of the region, albeit the road being a few meters below. So, if you want to spend some quiet time outside, on your room's balcony you can't. The traffic below can be deafening at times during the day. Inside the room, though, the noise is just a distant hum. At night, the room is completely quiet unless a heavy truck or pesky motorcycle passes by. A second source of noise is the reception area, if your room is just across it. When tourists come and go hauling their bags you can hear them loud and clear. This noise can also be prevented if you close the door between the room and the small hallway that separates the room from the main door. Other than that I can't see any faults. The building had been renovated beautifully, the property is terraced and nicely landscaped. The pool is on the highest terrace and the restaurant is just next to it. We had a very enjoyable dinner on this elegant but intimate outdoor restaurant with beautiful views over the Valinco gulf. The food was also excellent with specific Corsican dishes and Corsican muscat wine. The small, sandy beach with crystal clear waters, located down across the road at the bottom of the hill, can be reached by foot or riding the hotel's golf cart. The personnel also speaks English, which is a bonus. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms at first level (ground level) located across the reception.

We had a wonderful stay in 2011 and are going back this summer. Don't understand this one reviewer below. This hotel has everything you need, starting with a great service, great level of comfort, elegant decoration, wonderful views, fresh food and a great Chef! The beach down below the hotel is beautiful and quiet, perfect for children. Water is crystal clear, white sand, small but very nice, and you can water ski or go for a boat ride (they will come and pick you up on the beach!). The hotel is not on the beach but they offer complimentary drop off and pick up on golf cart -always fun - but the beach is so close that you can walk too...The location is great, especially if you have a wife like mine who likes going shopping in town! Staff speaks English and is extremely friendly. Can't think of anything bad to say. I want to say " Miramar Corsica, what else?"

The noice from the road do not allow to ask high prices. Take away the road ok.
The restaurant was not convincing, neither the breakfeast. The beach ? Compared what you have in Corsica one star.
