On our first night in the area and we needed an evening meal. There's a good choice in Propiano, ranging in price from budget to moderately expensive. A few places were deserted at 2000hrs, others buzzy and full. We had the last table outside at L'Ambata. Soon there was a queue. The menu is varied, with pizza, pasta, salads and roasts being available. We asked for pizzas but our waitress advised that there was a wait as the pizza oven had so many orders. Not to worry, we changed our order to one of roast lamb thigh on a bed of mashed potato and one seafood linguine. A couple of beers and a bottle of the local rosé rounded things off. All well cooked and served. The menu is in French and little English is spoken (so what, it is France!). My wife's school girl French and a phrase book got us by easily. The tables are quite close together, but not excessively so. Perhaps the numbers the restaurant attracts keeps the prices reasonable! Recommended.
