“A bit over rated”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

Just. Coming to the end of week long stay in Corsica, went to Palombaggia beach a couple of days ago and was a bit disappointed. Firstly it was quite difficult to find as it was very poorly signposted, there is a restaurant where the car park was and it was not clear if it was a beach car park or for the restaurant only. Then as it is quite a long sweeping bay it gets very windy, so much so that when lying down sand was blowing into our eyes and mouth. We left after a couple of hours, I much prefer the more beautiful San Guiliana beach which is much more sheltered from the frequent wind and easier to find!

“Nice beach, clear water”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Nice beach but too crowded in August. Go in June to enjoy the place with some peace. There are a couple of places to eat that are not too bad on the south side of the beach.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

A wonderful beach with white sands and clear blue water. The beach looks like paradise and it is. It gets hot so you should bring an umbrella. There is a car park but it isn't free but your car will be shaded and its a lot easier. Lovely but visit for a short time.

Corsican beaches on the whole are fabulous. Clear, blue water and often quite shallow for a long way , so safe for children. Palombaggio is famous and you need to get there in good time to avoid some of the hectic areas around the car park. This year we found the beaches a bit different from previous years as the ecological conservationists are apparently not wanting the seaweed cleared, so its often left to dry out on the beach and just raked up. Its understandable but sometimes means the beaches don't look as clean as they used to. Still they are really great places to sunbathe, swim and often have good beach restaurants. Palombaggio will delight but worth walking a bit of a distance along the beach to avoid the crowds in high season.
