“DON'T bother”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

Overlooking the beach, that's a plus and that's all. Prices disproportionate to quality and quantity of food we got. Typical high prices for tiny portions in big plates, not even french meals are like these!
I.e. I ordered stuffed zucchini. One big plate arrived with two small zucchini cut in half, which made them look even smaller. With the first bite I got the unpleasant feeling of cold filling in my mouth so that I had to send the plate back and ask them to stick it in the microwave oven. What a marvelous eating experience in a traditional establishment!

“Fantastic traditional Greek cuisine at affordable prices”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

Elpis tavern is a fantastic choice for authentic Greek cuisine, in an amazing location which overlooks Mylopotas beach. We have been staying at Elpis Rooms just upstairs from the restaurant and have eaten in the tavern several times. The staff & service are fantastic and the food cannot be faulted. The saganaki & numerous Greek salad variations on the menu have been favourable for us. Highly recommend this restaurant and it is affordable for those travelling on a budget.

“Great Food, Fabulous view & Cheap Too!”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

The staff here are very friendly - the food is excellent for the price and the free deserts/ouzos or Raki with honey after each meal were very welcome.
We ate here 3 times and it was really good every time, and averaged 35 to 40 euros per meal for us both including starters, 1/2 litre of wine, main and desert with ouzo afterwards. On each occaision the Walnut pie had already been used up by other diners, but the other chocolate brownie with ice cream was very nice.
- Highly recommended, the service was slow, but thats how we like it on Holiday.

“Great restaurant with a wonderful view over the bay.”
Reviewed September 9, 2010

We visited this restaurant twice during the week we stayed there. On each occasion we had a good meal. The service was slow on both occasions but the wait was worthwhile.
Particular dish to be recommended is the Walnut Pie...absolutey delicious!
If we go back to Ios, we will certainly eat here again.

“The best traditional Greek restaurant on Ios island.”
Reviewed October 17, 2008

The Elpis Bar and Restaurant, also known as The Twins, is located on the far right of Mylopotas Bay, just before the Ios Palace Hotel. The Elpis Restaurant, or The Twins.is above a mini market,to the right of the mini market are a few steps, then you will see the Restaurant on your left. The menu at the Elpis is traditional Greek, and I recommend just go for what you fancy and you will not be dissapointed. The staff are great, they always greet you with a smile and have a chat with you as they see you to a table. It is a family run buisness, and has been going for generations, so they really know how to look after you.Takis, who is one of the younger sons made me feel so welcome when i was there this year, of course he knew me from the many times that I have visited Ios Island, and of course The Twins or in Greek Elpis Restaurant. See the photo,s. Especially the one with Takis showing off his big.............. water melon. See you all there again next year, my friends in Ios. James Manchester England.
