The hotel is situated miles away from anything, so most people seemed to go out in the morning and get back late afternoon. When we were there, the shop next door was closed, as was the little shop at the hotel. This wasn't a problem for us as we were only there for a few nights.
The shuttle into Chiang Mai costs 50 baht, which is ridiculously cheap for a 50 minute ride. We enjoyed a trip in to the city ourselves and really enjoyed looking round ( The silver temple is not to be missed!).
Our room was very nice indeed. The balcony, however, looked out onto a concrete wall, which was a shame as we were in the heart of the countryside.
While we were there, they had an issue with the pool, It went very green and was unusable. They were working on this and it was getting better by the time we left, although we would have been unhappy if we had been staying there as our main holiday.
The food in the restaurant was very nice indeed. Although it was more expensive than restaurants in town, it was still cheaper than in the UK. Drinks were expensive.
We had a fabulous half day excursion, in one of the hotel cars. . We were taken to a waterfall, to caves ( fantastic) and to the hot springs. On the whole a very nice stay, but with a few issues which were In the process of being sorted out.

Room tip: Try not to get a room backing onto the road, as some very heavy Lorries go past occasionally.

Mind you the LOCATION is not even Chiang Mai. It is reallyisolated that literally nothing exists within walking distance. No shops no restaurants no massage, nothing. Despite in the middle of nowhere, the resort is ironically built right next to the road ....so in your villas you will have trucks running behind your bed every morning for your wake up calls. The hotel ground itself is relatively small given its location and is unfortunately very enclosed, particularly it has no open views at all to any of it surroundings, making it quite boring and uncomfortable. In fact, this resort can be situated in anywhere without making a difference. Literally one can stare at a swimming pool all day long anywhere without having to come all the way here. purpose defeated.

FACILITIES : non existent --- Rock bar closed and very run down anyway. Irish bar closed. "Spa" - you mean the 2 massage beds ? Tour desk never opened, had to make own enquiry with tour operators.

TRANSPORTATION - shuttle bus is chargeable LOL. Runs twice only 9am and 3pm. Be prepared your own transportation and spend a fortune if you want flexible schedule and venture out for dinner and night markets (basic curtesy, despite chargeable it is still not offered). Or you can stick to hotel RESTAURANT and pay 3 times the standard thai price for some mediocre food. All in all the shuttle arrangement is a disgrace and disappointment.

Maybe a pretty face but nothing special. Little value for time and money spent. Definitely not worth coming back nor would recommend.

First I have to say, it's not cheap there. Neither accommodation (beside secret escape and so on), nor food and beverages or any treatment.
On the other side, I have had many massages so far, this one was the best Thai massage ever!
The appearance of the hotel is very lovely. The cascaded pools are really nice, the rooms superior. And last but not least, the personnel is awesome. So friendly, so sweet, so helpful,...
E.g. We forgot our wallet with money in a car of uber in the city Chiang Mai late in the evening and therefore didn't know how we should get back to Getaway. We called the reception and they didn't not only send us a taxi to catch us up but also tried very hard to contact uber to find the driver to get our wallet back. Furthermore on the next day, the hotel drove us to a cave where we would have to pay entrance. As we had no money at this point, they paid for us in advance. Incredible!!!
I love this lovely place!

May all of them find happiness and the cause of happiness, may they be free of suffer and the cause of suffering!

We had five night at this very lovely hotel complex. It is an hour from Chiang Mai but well worth it if you are looking for peace and city. The transfer worked great. We spend the hot day at the pool and took the transfer in the afternoon to Chiang Mai.
MOST outstanding is the staff! They are the nicest people ever and helped us with so much effort when we lost something on an Uber Taxi!
If you are looking for party or restaurants this is not the place and it might be a bit more expensive but that was all worth it! And the food and breakfast was great. There was no cheese and I asked for some and always worked. They will do anything they can to make you happy!
We booked via Secret Escapes and had a fantastic room.
But I have to mention again the whole staff is just fantastic!
Thank you for everything!
And the massage was outstanding!!!
Ps: best tip we got for the day with the elephants !!! ❤️

Staff are very friendly and helpful. The location and rooms are excellent if you want to do what the name suggests and get away from it all with some unusual pools. Food is of a good quality and plentiful but expensive but the drink prices are extortionate. They offer transport to the city for 50 baht and to the hot springs for free which is well worth a visit. If you want to bring your own drink then go outside the gate and turn right and within, 30 seconds you'll find a shack looking store where you can sit and enjoy your drink or take it with you at a very reasonable price. Overall a pleasant experience
