We would definately reccommend this homestay for anyone who wants to experience Thailand at it's best. From the minute we arrived in Chang Mai to the minute we left, we were looked after like members of the family, by Nong, Coco and their family.

The homestay is about 20 minutes out of the city in a lovely small village. Transport was no problem as Coco drove us anywhere we wanted to go. Nong would organise all sorts of day trips for us and Coco drove us there. We visited the temple and Nong came with us and showed us around, explaining all the rituals and prayer routines. We also went on an elephant ride, had our photo taken with tigers, went on a river cruise, bamboo rafting and visited the hot springs and cave. There was so much to do, we decided to stay an extra night.

Nothing was too much trouble for Nong and Coco. The customer service and attention to detail was really outstanding. For example, it rained during one of our trips and Nong was ready with ponchos, the Mozzies really liked me so Nong brought me some cream for the bites! We can't thank all the staff at Ban chunsongsang Homestay enough, i felt like a home away from home!

In a nutshell, we feel very lucky to have stayed at such a special place and would love to go back again!

Room Tip: Don't forget the mozzie spray!

Ban Chunsongsang is a lovely home stay with much uniqueness and simple beauty. The family has put in a lot of effort and thoughtfulness is decorating the pretty huts, and attention is paid to every detail. It was a pleasure falling asleep and waking up to the sound of raindrops, roosters and insects - very relaxing and refreshing.

The service is also excellent, for the family is very helpful, resourceful and gentle, making us feel very much at home. The lovely family is one of the reasons why we enjoyed the home stay.

The family could also help to arrange trips and offer useful advice. There is quite a bit to do in Chiangmai - from visiting the temples, hill tribes and local handicrafts, to elephant riding, taking photos with tigers, bamboo rafting and trekking. On some days, we just relaxed in the home stay and took a leisurely cycle around the village.

All in all, we enjoyed ourselves very much, and high recommended it.

This homestay was a much needed retreat from the city happenings. Only 20mins from Chiang mai, but you feel further away than that. A lovely little village where the owner and family will educate you on the surrounds. The food is excellent and affordable. Nong (the owner) was more than happy to help us organise our tours and transported us to and from where we needed to go. Our 18 month old daughter loved it, so its recommended to families. It was a great change to hotel rooms, our accomodation being a bamboo bungalow with a king size bed. We were very happy with the service and enthusiasm of everyone there. We would go back.

Room Tip: Bungalow good for privacy.

My wife and our 3 children stayed with Nong and her family for 7 nights, during our stay she organised several trips for us to various parks and craft centres, she even took our kids out 1 day so that me and my wife got a break. The food and accommodation are both excellent at an excellent price. I shall recommend Nong's homestay to all my friends.

Nong and her husband can't do enough to help. They will organise any program of sightseeing you wish at a very reasonable cost. It is a change to be woken by roosters, frogs, and the birds. The food is the best I have ever had.
If we get the chance to come back to Chiang Mai, would definitely stay there again.

We found Chunsonsang on the internet, and booked a couple of days there during our trip through Thailand en route to Laos. We arrived on the overnight bus from Bangkok, and were met by Nong, the most delightful lady who owns the homestay.

Nong drove us the 15km or so to the homestay, and we fell in love with it immediately; bungalows on stilts at the back of the garden, with a porch outside, and excellent sleeping accomodation and a shower room inside. After unloading our backpacks, we were invited for breakfast in the diNong area: tea, coffe, toast (actually on tap all day), and for breakfast a plate of eggs and tomato.

First day was for chilling after our long time on the bus. In the afternoon, Nong was going to Chiang Mai, so we begged a lift and bought our tickets for the next day plus one for Chiang Khong, our next stop. But the next day, after being taken to Chiang Mai for a day of elephant riding and bamboo rafting, and then being picked up again by Nong, we decided 2 days would never be enough in such a heavenly place. So we asked Nong if we could extend our stay by a further 2 days.

I could go on for hours about Chunsongsang, and even longer about Nong and her lovely family. But I will just say if you want to be in the area of Chiang Mai, contact Nong and hope she has space for you!
