“I *LOVE* This Botanical Garden!”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

This garden is just heavenly. It's not very expensive and worth every baht you pay. They have flowers and trees from all over the globe, and everything is always kept neat and clean. Bicycle rental is cheap, and very much worth the money! There are many places to rest and sit in the shade as you reflect and enjoy the scenery. It's got places for picnics, clean bathrooms and a museum that you should also see! The rose garden is one place you MUST visit, I had never seen so many beautiful roses blooming at one time in my life!

“Great spot...don't listen to tour arrangers about it”
Reviewed February 26, 2012

After we read the reviews in trip advisor my wife and I decided to go. The tour arranger at our hotel said it was nothing much to see but we hired our loyal tuk tuk guy and went anyway. It was great! We rented bikes and rode around the periphery 1st then picked our spots for a more in depth experience. all was very nice, quiet without a lot of people.

Beautifully manicured with some great rocks. The museum was small but had a few interesting things or see and the caretaker was nice and helpful. Definitely a place worth going to.

BTW, if you find an honest and reasonable tuktuks driver stick with them, get their phone
number and make potential arrangements. Ours was good because he would just
Listen to our requests and would not recommend all the other places to go where he gets the kick backs. Unusual for the typical tuktuk driver. His name is Mr Narong if you spot him check him out. Nice clean and a safe driver if you are conned with the safety of riding a 1/2 hour or so on the zippy vehicles.

“Literally, a breath of fresh air!”
Reviewed January 27, 2012

We stay in Chiang Mai often and know that the city centre can get polluted and smoggy as the temperature starts to increase at the end of the cold season.

We were recommended Tweechol Gardens by a friend as a good half day trip which is easy to do independently. We picked up the yellow songthiew from the Warorot Market (the Nakhanping Bridge end). The cost was just 15bt and the friendly driver stopped at the Horizon Resort which forms part of the gardens (about 5 miles outside town heading to Doi Saket). We walked in where the security guard directed us to the entrance gate. Entrance fee was just 80bt and bike hire was just 30bt for 2 hours (plenty of time to taking a meandering ride around).

Lets get it straight here, we are overweight, not fit and don't use cycles at home but the easy cycles routes are great fun and thoughly worth a go! We spent our time cycling around (no hills or rough terain!!), enjoying the beauty of the gardens and the fresh air. There is an electric train which is no where near as much fun.

The restaurant serves great food at a reasonable price (we went midweek). There was a large swimming pool which visitors could use. After a few hours of walking & cycling, you simply exit the via the Horizon Resort, cross the road and flag down any passing yellow songthiew which seem to pass quite regularly back to the Warorot Market - easy!!

“excellent,tranquil, beautiful, very clean”
Reviewed January 25, 2012

Great place to spend the day. We took the free guided tour by golf buggy first then rented bikes. amazing value and enjoyable way to take in the gardens and animals - deer, buffalo, camels, birds etc. But the main attraction is the topiary and the plants, plus museum and lanna style lfe exhibit. Good restaurant for lunch, and the whole place is quiet and tranquil midweek but I suspect the entry/buffet combo for 150bht at weekends may make it too busy to enjoy. Easy to reach in a yellow song theauw to doi saket from warorot market (14bht!)-but do ask him first to stop at Tweechol or he will sail right past on the highway to Doi saket. The ride is about 40 mins. Enjoy!
