“A cosy, peaceful lodge!”
Reviewed September 20, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We stayed here on our honeymoon in September 2017. Antonia greeted us on arrival and recommended nearby things to do, along with a basket of goodies including fresh bread, milk, jam and eggs.

The lodge itself is a real home away from home! It is clean, comfortable and has everything that you would need - we cooked our own meals most nights (one evening we did eat at the Shimla Indian in nearby Beauly which was amazing - we would highly recommend a visit there if you like curry!). The garden was wonderful, you could hear the water in the nearby stream, and we saw several animals: birds (blue tits, a wren and even a robin!), a few red squirrels and we think we may have spotted a pine marten!

It was a perfect base for us to explore the area, with lots of things to do within driving distance, including Beauly Priory, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle and Fort George. We went to Chanonry Point one evening at rising tide but sadly didn't spot any dolphins - we did however see many seals! The nearby Reelig Glen is a great place for a walk, with 2 trails there that we enjoyed.

Thank you for making our trip to the highlands so wonderful - we would definitely stay here again on our next trip!

“Lovely Stay!”
Reviewed June 17, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Had a great week in a beautiful location. Lodge clean and comfortable and has all you need. Red squirrels and pine martens visit the garden as do many birds. Nearest village is Beauly which has a well stocked co-op, a short drive to Inverness and easy access to Loch Ness and Black Isle. Great walks nearby. Saw dolphins and seal at Chanonry Point. Hope to return one day.

Fantastic holiday. The lodge was great, everything you could need, very clean and well furnished. Antonina, the owner left some lovely local goods for us to sample along with fresh eggs from her hens. The eggs were wonderful and she was happy to bring us more. One of the best bits was the garden, full of wildlife; red squirrels, voles, a pinemarten and lots of birds. At night you can sit with the curtains open and watch the bats flying past.
The location is great, very rural but well within easy driving distance to Lochness, Inverness, Culloden, the Black Isle and lots of other interesting places. There was a fantastic information pack in the lodge with maps and lots of info on tourist attractions and walks and stuff. We loved Beauly, it had everything you could need for your holiday with the highlights being the local delicatessen (good food and a fabulous gin selection) and the Chinese takeaway.
We would not hesitate to recommend this holiday, it was wonderful.

“Great stay, cosy, peaceful place”
Reviewed June 21, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed in Moniack's Lodge for a week in June.
The owner was lovely and very helpful, gave us some tips about the walks and events.
Lodge was very cosy, clean, comfortable (kitchen has everything you possibly need, beds are very comfortable, lounge is cosy and comfortable), we got lovely welcoming pack and delicious muffins

If you are looking for peaceful place to relax and unwind, stunning views, walks, good atmosphere Moniack's Lodge is the place for you.
Thank You Antonia for making our stay so comfortable

“cosy lodge”

Myself and my husband booked her for New Years Eve for a few days. Original it was with 2 friends but ended up just been us as a couple.

What can i say about affleck? It's a beautiful lodge with everything you could possibly need, in lovely woodland/farm/countryside settings.

It was to a very high standard, the bed was extremely comfy. They even had a tablet for guests to use with free wifi.

The owner Antonia was lovely, she even adviced us about a new years eve concert that was going on that night and asked if we had any plans for the new year. I thought this was really good as usually as a young couple we would have love the opportunity to go to a concert with the red hot chilli pipers. Being 21 weeks pregnant though we decided to have cosy and relaxing weekend instead, which it was indeed!

“A Wildlife Haven In The Heart of the Scottish Highlands”
Reviewed July 19, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

My wife and I are photographers and stayed at Affleck after hearing about the wonderful wildlife in the area and, indeed, in this property's own private garden. After putting up a hide in the garden, I watched over our three night stay and saw a Pine Marten and Kitt visit. It was wonderful to see. I captured a shot of the mother - see attached photo. Red Squirrels are also abundant and one morning we saw five running amok in the garden. The lodge itself it beautifully done to a very high standard with wi-fi, HD TV and a power shower to name just a few. There were plenty of places to visit nearby including the beautiful village of Beauly (just 10 mins away), Loch Ness and Fortrose to watch Dolphins Breaching (or leaping) at Chanonry Point. The owners of Affleck couldn't do enough to help and it's a place we definitely plan to return to next year.

It was great to meet you all and it was no trouble to help you in trying to capture an image of the pine martens in Affleck's garden. We're pleased that you got out to see the dolphins too - Chanonry Point is such a great spot - and love your plug for our nearest village, Beauly - lots of lovely cafes there! Yum! We look forward to welcoming you all back next year to get that shot! Antonia & Richard
