Pros:
What a nice place to relax, it is a perfect location for a hide out.
Friendly and professional trained staff, we checked in late around 8.30 PM even though kitchen is closed at 9.30PM they were willing to satisfy our expectations bringing our dinner to hotel rooms so we can enjoy after a bit of relaxation.
Beautiful hotel with breath taking sceneries and nice climate for perfect relaxation.
Good tasty food.
Very child friendly staff and manager (Rafael)

Cons:
Pool needs to be having controlled temperature, it was very cold.
It takes a long journey from Colombo to travel, often you will be tired end of the journey.
We went with a group of people (9 ) they were struggling to measure how much food will need for us at breakfast so we had to wait 15 mins at mid of breakfast for more food.
May be bit over priced for a similar hotel standard.

Room Tip: Make enough time to reach there, I recommend at least 2 days stay if you want to enjoy the joint, di...

Best hotel that we stayed in during our 9 day trip in Sri Lanka.
The setting in the midst of hills, the nice rooms and large balconies with unhindered views of the hills made it a very pleasant stay.
The staff was also very friendly and helpful and the food was quite decent ( i like the Sri Lankan food more than the internartional options).
However, please note that while this Hotel is listed as in Nuwara Eliya, it is actually in Haputale and very far away from the main sightseeing areas of Nuwara Eliya.
I had not realised it is so far off while booking. So while I enjoyed the 2 night stay here, anything longer would have got boring.
Overall i would give it 4 out of 5.

We loved staying here and would highly recommend this luxury hotel to other travellers! The service was amazing and the view was outstanding! The rooms are huge and have lovely balconies so you can take in the breath taking view. Food was delish and the manager, Rafael, made sure we were well taken care of!
We will never forget this place!

One night stopover on our way south with two kids 9 and 12. Service is so strong and friendly. Rooms are not luxurious but clean. We slept with doors wide open for awesome mountain winds all night. Food was very good including excellent breakfast. We did not have time to explore the sights but recommend Melheim for lodging.

I would rate the location, view and service as some of the best anywhere in the world. My wife and I stayed there as part of a tour and I cannot speak highly enough of the location and views in every direction. The rooms were spotless and a lot of attention to detail with what people might need and expect. The food was tremendous. The staff were exceptionally professional and friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Would highly recommended this hotyel.

Stayed for 2 nights as 1 couple and a single lady. We had the two lowest positioned bungalows in the resort, so there was quite a climb up the steps to the restaurant (lower bungalows not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties). We were warmly greeted and throughout our stay the staff and management were friendly, courteous, efficient and professional. We had a few problems when we arrived: a safe not working, kettle not working and my television not working. They were all dealt with speedily and pleasantly. We had some rain in the evening and a large umbrella was delivered to us for our journey up the steps to dinner. This hotel has the most amazing views and both mornings I was awake at dawn and sat outside watching and listening to the 'dawn chorus'. The bungalows are above the treeline and this is a 'twitcher's' paradise! The ground slopes away into a valley and the most stunning vista. The bungalows themselves are pleasantly furnished and are kept very clean, as is the pool and surrounding gardens. The pool was 'refreshing' but not too cold! The food was very good and we ate our meals on the outside terrace every evening and morning. Not a buffet, but set evening menus which we could choose (and book a time) in the morning. This was such a peaceful stay for us all (about half way through our 3 week holiday), and re-charged our batteries somewhat! Summing up - lovely staff, lovely food and an enchanting setting! Stay here before it gets more built-up and spoilt!

What a find! What a find!

Tranquil setting. Fantastic views to the southern coast.

Meals were fantastic. Order the local breakfast; the quality and taste were outstanding. The evening Sri Lankan curry were also delicious.

The rooms were well appointed. Clean and comfortable. The balcony a great way to relax for a few hours.

The staff accommodating and helpful.

The only problem - our stay was far too short. Do yourself a few and spent a few days unwinding here. The station up the road is a great place to catch the train from to Ella and enjoy the wonderful views!
