I enjoyed a day here with my mum, we had a back massage & facial for only €39, relaxed in the outdoor hot tub, sauna & steam room, followed by a delicious lunch in the bar & a walk around the lake..beautiful place!

Just back from a short break in the Lough Allen Hotel, its a really lovely hotel set by a lake just minutes from a pretty village called Drumshanbo.
We were both in need of some down time and this hotel ticked all the boxes for us. We were greeted in Reception by one of the friendliest receptionists ever, Bernie was super efficient at her job and yet had the time to chat and tell us of all the hotels amenities .
The hotel as I said is set on a lake with some lovely walks close by. The bar was quite large with some attractive window seats whereby you could watch the boats on the lake. There was a terrace immediately off the bar, but the weather was not warm, so we passed on this option.
The Bar food was excellent, well priced with a good selection. Drinks were your average hotel prices and the bar had a good selection of beers and spirits.
We had dinner on the Friday night in the hotel Restaurant, " Rushes". We sampled the special Oriental Experience Menu, it was superb, a great selection of dishes from Vietnam, Mongolia, Korea and India. beautifully cooked, interesting flavours and aromas. I would definitely recommend that menu for any foodie out there. Our bedroom was very spacious with a small balcony off it. While our bedroom did not look out over the lake, we did have a view of the countryside instead.
Two spa treatments were included on the special offer I had made my booking on and I availed of these on Saturday morning, my therapist Aisling was wonderful, I just drifted away as she worked her magic on my massage and facial. Bliss.
I really enjoyed my stay in the Lough Allen hotel, food was fabulous, great staff. nice location. I will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lake.

Family friendly hotel, fantastic hard working staff who make you feel so welcome,we spent 2 nights with our 2 boys 12 and 8,they loved the spacious outdoors playground and play area for football etc..loved the pool n outdoor hot tub.we stayed n one of the 2 bed apts, which are nice but the let down was the noise of the water pumps when ever taps or shower used, and the rooms were too warm!!but we will be back and have told family n friends to book as it really is a lovely hotel and lots to do such as the argina mines, carrick on Shannon town etc....

I went here with my husband for my birthday. We got a suite! It was beautiful. Very spacious, lots of light through a Hugh arch window. View of the lake spectacular.
Weather was nice which was a great bonus so on Friday we sat outside and had a drink or 2 and some food.
Husband had fish and chips and I had the chowder both were fab and good size portions.
Breakfast was excellent, lots of staff and service was great. Food was hot and plentiful. We went down just before 9am and there wasn't too many there.
Music on in the bar every weekend night.
Swimming pool was great, nice size, nice and warm. Spa is great, I had a facial and back massage. I really enjoyed it,
The staff are their biggest asset. All were very nice and attentive. Actually everyone we met had something nice to say, a friendly hello etc.
Only grip was we asked for a taxi to go to Carrick On Shannon and to be honest it was FLITHY! The seats were scruffy, dirt all in the car, I felt dirty getting out. Typical irish, a big no smoking sign in the car and the smell of smoke in the car was horrific! We were charged 20 euro one way. HOTEL, please ask taxi driver to clean car, or get someone else. Honestly it was embarrassing g thinking of a 'tourist' getting in that car.
Over all I will go again and bring my kids next time, it's a great base for sight seeing as well as a fab hotel xxx thank you do much x

Hi Guys the wife and myself took a weekend break over the May bank holiday weekend we arrived on the Sunday until Tuesday. A very warm welcome on arrival. A fine spacious hotel with very nice apartments also within the hotel grounds. The rooms are vey nice and comfortable the leisure centre is spotless clean and well run. We made good use of this facility over the couple of days. Part of our package was a facial treatment in their spa which was pure pleasure. The bar food is excellent and the bistro was also to a high standard. A really enjoyable weekend break were we could switch off. If I had a negative which is one I have in all hotels who don't have provide wifi in the rooms. In the age we leave it is not convenient to go to the reception area to use the wifi. Having said in my title the Hide Out and I really think you need a car. If the Irish weather is against you it is to far to the local town. Carrick on Shannon is the bigger town is very close by car and a great town to visit. I left a suitor be hide in the hotel and the hotel kindly rang me and informed me of this and very kindly post it to me. So to the hotel Management and there very good staff at the hotel we talk you for making our stay enjoyable thank you.

Just back from 2 days at Lough Allen Hotel and Spa. Very lucky with great weather. Most enjoyable few days. Lovely food, very friendly staff. Magnificent scenery, great places to visit and things to do. We had a brilliant hour horseriding at the stables that are part of the hotel. We really enjoyed our electric bicycle trail and the Arigna Miners experiance is wonderful. Overall a brilliant time.

We had the great pleasure of attending a wedding in the Lough Allen Hotel last weekend. We decided to turn it into a mini break and stayed three nights and i'm so glad we did. Though the Hotel has seen better days being a bit worn around the edges our room was immaculate, comfortable, quite and had a partial but stunning view of the lake. There is a nice spa area with the warmest pool I have ever been in and an outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake which we spent ages in just having a laugh and a chat. I had a facial in the excellent treatment rooms which was so good and unbelievably cheap. The bar has a lovely atmosphere and had really good entertainment each night. The food and service was outstanding in every department, the wedding, the restaurant, the bar and breakfast. Overall its a really good 3 star hotel, excellent value with a genuinely warm Irish welcome which certainly makes up for any of its small shortcomings.
