My wife and I decided to do a destination wedding. As we searched the endless commercial sites which offered packages and cliché weddings we finally found a diamond in the rough. Jeff and his staff made our dreams come true. For the 3 days we stayed on Eleuthera we were in paradise. The service is top notch; they are very helpful and polite. The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We felt overloaded with all the hassle of planning a wedding, but Jeff and his staff walked us through it and made our lives (and our marriage) much better. Unfortunately, we decided to go to Nassau for the remainder of our honeymoon. We quickly became homesick for The Cove. If anyone is on the fence about where to go in the Bahamas, we can tell you that The Cove on Eleuthera Island far exceeds anywhere else in the Bahamas in beauty and environment. We will never forget our dream wedding and are extremely grateful to everyone at The Cove for making it so memorable.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the ocean view. The view is amazing and the room is very large.

We stayed at The Cove Eleuthera the last week in May 2013. The accommodations are wonderful and the grounds and beaches are pristine! The staff is very accommodating. The GM, Jeff, is knowledgeable, personable and at the top of his game. The owner, Sidney, was on-site while we were there. He is hands-on, involved and interested in feedback from his guests. Sidney has grand long-range plans for this resort and we will be excited to watch for future updates.

The food was good and could be better with more variety or creativity with the existing food for enjoyment of longer-staying guests. It rained 5 of the 8 days we stayed and it would be nice to have some type of indoor recreation or activity available for the guests during such periods of lingering rain. I will note we were told that it hadn't rain in several months and this is the first time in over 30 years that we've taken a vacation and had to deal with rain.

It you're looking for a relaxing get-away in a beautiful island setting, put this place on your list and go visit.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are nice. If you want a beach view, go for a Cove Room or Vista Royale. The Bush rooms are also very nice and much more private than the beach front rooms. If you're staying for more than a few days, upgrade and get a bigger cottage so you don't feel so cramped.

As we are living in Nassau currently we are trying to see as many of the other islands as we can while we are here. As we wanted to see Eleuthera we took and chance and booked this recently reopened completely redesigned resort, and what an excellent choice we made. This is more of a boutique hotel with roughly 40 rooms at the moment to be expanded to 80 at some point. We were upgraded from our Ocean Facing room to a Caribbean Cove Suite (we did not ask for an upgrade). This has to be one of the most amazing"hotel" rooms on any island anywhere. You step out of your massive room onto the beach, it's waht dreams are made of. the rooms are immaculate, well appointed with special touches like a Nespresso machine. The rooms are cleaned (although you never see a cleaner) and turned down in the evening, ready for you when you come back from dinner. The Molton Brown products were an added benefit according to my fiance.

The restaurant I would say is on par with other upmarket restaurants in Nassau, maybe $1 to $2 more per meal but not more than that. The quality of the food is really good. It is fine dining though as you won't find a burger or pizza on the dinner menu. What we did find expensive though were drinks, $10 for a Heineken, $14 for cocktails. Wine was reasonably priced comparatively. They had live music 2 of the 3 nights we were there which was great to listen to while having dinner overlooking the incredible Caribbean Sea.

The swimming pool and beach have to be the best part of this place though. The massive infinity pool perched up on the hill has amazing views of the beaches. There are really comfortable loungers that outnumber people 2 to one all over the place and you don't have to lift a finger, the staff put up the umbreall's, bring you towels, drinks, food, etc... The same applies to the beach, but I have to say that occassionally the beach service was not as good. Sometimes you could wait a long time for someone to come and offer you drinks or food. There are also free kayaks, snorkel gear, paddle boards, bicycles, etc. There are also tonnes of hammocks all over the place, near the beach, in the bushes, outside the rooms.

As mentioned by many other people, Sidney, the owner is always around making sure that your stay is as good as possible. He mentioned that they will be putting in a Spa which would be a great addition.

Overall, this is a 5 star resort already and is definitely only going to get better. We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: I think all rooms have their pro's and con's. Obviously the more you pay the better the view. Currently while there is still construction going on I think the better rooms would be on the North side.

After our adventurous hiking holiday in Peru, I had decided it was time for a relaxing beach/island holiday. Many days were spent online searching for a hotel on an island with gorgeous views, when I came across reviews for The Cove in Eleuthera. I was sold, just based on the photos and the initial reviews of the place (not to mention special prices just prior to the grand opening).
We just spent 6 days & 6 nights at The Cove and all that I can say is - It was the best decision I have made in a very long time (other than marrying my husband). It is by far, one of the most beautiful beach resorts I have even been to, with breathtaking views. The service was especially good, with exceptionally friendly staff, attending to our every need. Even the owners - Sidney & Jennifer, along with Lady, are very friendly and were always looking for feedback to make improvements.
We landed at the North Eleuthera Airport from Miami and caught a cab to the hotel - which was a 15 minute ride and costs us $35 for two people. As soon as we arrived at the entrance of the Cove, we were greeted by security, who were expecting us. As we arrive at the outer entrance of the hotel, we were met by Todd, who drove us in golf carts towards the inner entrance, whereby our welcome drinks were awaiting us. Checking into a hotel has never been so enjoyable. Mika (and I am so sorry if I got the spelling of your name wrong), was such a gracious person & host who did a very informal and comfortable check-in, and answered every single question that I had. The General Manager - Jeff, also introduced himself whilst we were checking in, to make sure we were also comfortable. We were then taken to our rooms - which were upgraded from a Ocean Facing King to a Ocean Facing 1 Bedroom Suite.
Our rooms were stunning. The deco in itself was simplistic, mainly decorated in white and natural wood, lovely wooden chairs with comfortable cushions to sit on, the fixtures in the bathroom were all by Waterworks & my favourite part were the Molton Brown soaps, shampoos & lotions. Needless to say, I did not waste any time in quickly sinking myself into the bathtub to have a long relaxing bath after our flight. The room we stayed in also had a mini refrigerator, a safe, a huge television, a nespresso machine, hair dryer, bath robes with bedroom slippers.
Essentially, for the next 6 days, all we did were kayak, snorkel, sun ourselves on the lounge chairs, swim in the clear, blue water (both in the ocean & pool), drink lots of cocktails and ate deliciously prepared meals at The Cove. The only time did we ever leave the vicinity of the hotel, was to walk all of 10 minutes to a little cafe, called the Laughing Lizard, to have lunch.
Special thank you also to Ramzi, Cassandra, Christie (the bartender), Gambo, Javaro, James and the above mentioned hosts. We look forward to coming back and seeing the continued development of your exceptional resort.

We just returned from a rainy 5/5 days at the Cove. The staff was amazing! They made sure we had everything we needed and did their best to cheer up those of us expecting a tropical, sunny vacation. The food was delicious. The drinks were excellent. We got married on our 3rd day and the staff went out of their way to make everything perfect in spite of the weather. I want to say a special thank you to Shantell, Jeff, Todd and Chester for making us feel important and special.
