By far the best hotel in Mangagoy, Bislig, however there is not much choice there.
Staff is good but don't expect fast reaction ;)
Food at the restaurant is average as you can find every where in Philippines.
Rooms are clean, hot shower.
Wifi is working properly.

after visiting here frequently since 2008, still must say that there is no better place in town, in fact none other come close. great staff, good security, outstanding food, and accommodating management that is open to suggestions for improvement.

Room Tip: take one in the front building on the second or third floor

This place has seen better days, but from what information we've gotten from the workers, the place is at least 20 years old already. If you want a decent place to sleep, then this is the best place for miles. Clean beds, clean toilet and at the very least has a good hot shower, then this is a good place to just put up for the night.

Other places would not have the many amenities which we take for granted in our own home, and I can't complain seeing that the price of the place is only around P1000 per night for a double bed room. There's wifi, which I was able to access in the room, since I was put in the 2nd floor with the router just outside my room, so I didn't have to go out to the lobby and get attacked by mosquitoes.

The only great thing about that place is the restaurant, I just have to say that they cook very good food. With such great prices considering its a hotel restaurant, the local Filipino dishes were fantastic, felt it was like home cooked food. Oh and they accept credit cards. How amazing is that? To say that this hotel is located in a very rural area.

Overall, its a good place to stay if you want to visit the Tinuy-an Falls near Bislig City.

Room Tip: Get rooms on the 2nd floor, to access the wifi in your rooms. Don't expect any views, its litera...

My eleventh visit here (I run a charity school in town) and again, as on each previous visit, small improvements were made.
Bearing in mind that the rates have not changed since at least 2008, this is a sign of caring n the part of management. This time around, I found free wifi throughout the hotel, including the rooms, and hot water in the shower is now heated by brand new German flow through heaters, much safer than the old arrangement.

I see the comments about staff here and could not disagree more. Every one that I deal with is helpful, friendly and courteous, maybe because I smile when dealing with them, they smile back. I have seen foreign guests treating staff
rudely and condescendingly, and in those cases, rude behavior in return is not a surprise. Treat people the way you want to be treated, and most of them will reciprocate, that applies everywhere in the world I have been.

Reviewers must also keep the surroundings in mind: Bislig is a very poor, remote city in a poor province of Mindanao, a poor
part of a poor country in the tropics. Given those circumstances, one can only be thankful for a clean and comfortable place to eat and sleep. The PCI is that, and has no equal anywhere near it.

Everybody seems to know the Paper Country Inn in the area, however I would hardly say that this is a swish place!
I guess the lobby was not too bad, however my double room was just about acceptable, plus do expect a granny type decor. I didn't find it very clean and the metal sink plug did get blocked the moment I used the bathroom and never came out again. I reported it but nothing was done about it.
The restaurant is a very small business and the food is ok, however I wouldn't particularly recommend it.
Overall for 1100 pesos, I thought it was pretty overpriced. Thank God I only spent one night there.

Room Tip: Get them to show you a few rooms before deciding.

If you just need a place to sleep after along day trip and enjoying the nature this is the only descent place to stay in the area. The old woman in the front desk was quite rude so be prepared. The rooms are cheap very affordable. Wifi is in the lobby only with free misquitos to carry you in your room so bring a mosquito repellant.

always dependable. i visit two, sometimes three times per year, and every time I speak to the owners about possible improvements, they are made by the next time I visit. newest one is wifi access, free of charge, thruout the hotel, very convenient.

Room Tip: corner rooms in front of the house have the most day light
