Stayed here with 10 freinds whilst cycling the South Downs Way. Very pleasant B&B. Great breakfast. Meticolously clean. Cottage has loads of character. Owners very helpful. Couldn't fault it. And they have secure storage for the bikes.

This is a great B&B in every way. We stayed in a beautiful beamed room in the Old Malthouse that was large, very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Our private bathroom was bliss, particularly after a long walk along the South Downs Way. The attention to detail was sublime and there were so many delightful touches which made us feel like honoured guests. Breakfast was the best we'd had and the packed lunch was also very good. Most of all, our hosts Sue and Steve were very friendly and made us feel at home. Probably the best B&B I've ever stayed in - I can't think of a single thing to change.

We were just three fool-hardy mountain bikers trying to do too much of the South Downs Way in too little time. With mechanical and physical breakdowns (as well as a spot of mapping reading issues), we stumbled into the Moonlight Cottage tea rooms, muddy and wet. Not only did Steve and Sue not mind that we were making their lovely team rooms dirty, they filled us with warm cottage pie and cups of tea, and even turned into an impromptu taxi service to get us to our destination. Excellent service and when we next attempt the SDW next year, the Moonlight Cottage will be getting a visit!

We had a great stay of one night in the Poppy room, a cosy twin room with full range of teas coffee and hot chocolate on offer.
Beds were very comfortable and bathroom spotless and spacious (although no mirror for shaving!).
There is a great eater that serves enormous portions just down the road.
We really enjoyed the sitting room with games and television in downstairs for guests to use.
Breakfast has been perfected!
Only downside is that you're right on a fairly noisy main road, but this doesn't bother you too much come night time.

We were walking the South Downs Way and were lucky enough to get the last minute room due to earlier cancelation. Beautiful 16th century cottage with original features (please check out the floor in the kitchen- I have taken some photos but decided best not to spoil the surprise : )
Breakfast was choice of English or vegetarian and they were both delicious.

Sue and Steve were really friendly which added to the whole experience.
Absolutely gutted I didn't get the chance to try the cakes in the tea room as they looked yummy.
Also there is a really nice pub/restaurant down the road which Sue can book for you.

Al in all definitely worth a little detour if you are in the area!

Room Tip: our room was only one with the bathroom next door which was slightly annoying as I was conscious of...

Definitely recommend an overnight stop here. Easy to find and only about half mile off the south downs way. My friend and I plus her dog were made most welcome and we indulged in a delicious cream tea on arrival! Lovely accomodation, good choice of breakfast and you can order a packed lunch.

We stayed here whilst walking the South Downs Way and were given a room in The Malthouse.
The room was nicely decorated, the bathroom was modern with a powerful shower and the view was of the rear garden.
Breakfast was served in the tea rooms over the road. The cooked breakfast was very tasty and I had the best veggie breakfast of my trip so far.
The owner was very helpful when we had problems with our baggage.
The only gripe we had was that the tea rooms were only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and we had been looking forward to having cake at the end of our walk.
