Lancut castle and carriage museum are not to be missed when you visit this part of the country. You can easily get there from Rzeszow taking a local bus or private mini bus, takes only about 30-40 mins.Apart from amazing interiors with all the antiques, there is also a beautiful garden to visit as well as the carriage museum with over 140 different carriages.
The only thing that visitors may find difficult are protective slippers that they have to wear on top of regular shoes. As the floors are wooden, you have to be careful not to trip and fall down.

The castle is great however a word of caution.
Tourists are required to put on clumsy felt slippers to protect the parquet floors.
It is difficult to walk on slippery floors as it is. Be carefull !!!
My wife tripped and fell and fractured her leg bone as a result.
The medical care in Poland is not expensive but far inferior than in the US.

The coach museum is very impressive. Quite a walk from the castle. No picture taking is allowed, even without flash.

Not only France has its "chateaux sur Loire". In South of Poland you can find fantastic old castles and manors which represent the culture of Polish aristocrats before the 2nd World War. Perfectly preserved with original interior decoration and equipements, it's worth to see. Łancut is wonderful palace of Potocki & Lubomirski families, located in amazing park. And if you travel to Łańcut try a local liquer "rosolis" made following old recipe

Lancut Castle and Gardens are well worth the trip. Lancut Castle has to be my favorite castle as it is very beautiful from the outside, surrounded by beautiful gardens and park outside but it is full of the original furnishings!

Asked to put cloth slippers over our footwear, we proceeded on a group tour of the castle on a very rainy day. The tour was so interesting as the castle has so much history and the rooms are beautifully furnished. The paintings are worth seeing alone! We enjoyed the many stories told by our tour guide about the occupants of the castle, the Lubomirski Family, and why it was not destroyed like so many other castles. Headset tours are also available and would highly recommend to learn about this beautiful residence.

In pouring rain, we found the park to be beautiful and walked to the Carriage House that contains 140 horse-drawn carriages. The building is beautiful and the carriage tour was amazing! After the tour we spoke with a resident on guard and heard more stories about some of his favorite carriages. There were carriages for daytime riding, sleepers for nighttime, learning carriages for children and their teacher, funeral carriages, racing carriages and regular driving carriages. The collection is very unique and worth seeing.

No photos are allowed in either Lancut Castle nor the Carriage Museum, unfortunately.

There is not many places like this in Poland - most of them was been destroyed and plundered by Swedish, German or Russian armies. This one was been also plundered, but many of precious pieces of art are still there.
What amazes me most was couch collection (one of the biggest aristocratic collection in Europe) and ancient sculptures in Castle.
Park is also great place to walk, sit on a bench and just rest.
Despite long distance I will visit this place again for sure.
