“The main reason to visit is beautiful roof paintings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013

We visited Taman Gili during our transfer from Amed to Seminyak. Our guide named it Kerta Gosa. The main reason to visit is beautiful roof paintings in two pavilions. The place itself has interesting history. Definitely, it is not top attraction, however worth to visit, if you are nearby.

“Beautiful place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

This site is the remains of a palace, and although small is extremely beautiful and very well maintained. There is an outward simplicity about the buildings and yet when you take time to explore there is so much detail to be found. A storm broke as we were there so we had to cut short the visit and didn't get to the museum, but still I rate this as one of the best places I visited in Bali.

“Truly palatial”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

This palace complex is quite spectacular. There are ponds, outdoor meeting areas, and enclosed buildings. The museum is interesting and has some commentary to give you an idea of the history.

It would have been worthwhile to do some study before coming to this complex. There is a lot to see and it would be a lot more meaningful had he known what we were looking at.

“Grandeur Retained”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

The ancient times of the Balinese royalty may have been very grand and elaborate accompanied by a high regard for spirituality as reflected in this amazing complex used as a Court of Law Hall....the Museum was quite special for me since my interest is on the area of folklore and gave me an initial idea about the characters and musical instruments of the Balinese ceremonial dances.....Taman Gili is regarded like a sacred temple that is why being garbed in a sarong is required (sarongs are provided at the entrance)

“Nice place if you are prepared”

The roof paintings are very interesting especially if you know the story of Kerta Gosa (Hall of Justice). Museum was nothing special...
