I was very cautious about going to an elephant care place as I had heard that some of them weren't very caring at all. I am glad we chose Eddy's. It was a little upsetting to see that they were chained but this was not all the time, only when they were eating. We got a free lunch and drinking water was free too. There were also beers and soft drinks available for purchase. The mahouts looked after all the elephants very well and they all looked very healthy and cared for. We spent a day here and they taught us the commands to ride them bareback; no bamboo seats! We only took them for a little walk and then they went in the lake where we could wash them. They loved it and were rolling around splashing and enjoy the cool off. I would definitely recommend this place to people who do not want to see elephants harmed but if you do not want to ride them or see them chained at all then go to the elephant nature park where they allow you to just watch them all day.

The day we did was half rafting and half riding elephants..it was our second choice after the conservation was booked..probably wouldn't recommend it over the conservation purely because we really wanted a place free from cruelty and neglect but we did not find that with eddys. The elephants are chained up when not 'in use' on really small leads and even the baby's are chained to mothers without any access to water or food. There was one beautiful old elephant with barn wire around her leg and abandoned because she was half blind.
The family is lovely and they really try to make you have a nice Time, but it left us feeling disheartened this treatment is still common to elephants

this was a fun day out, under the expert care of Eddy. Honestly, I would have preferred to have fitted the whole experience into three hours and no lunch - but thailand is very relaxed and slow paced - so an all-day-lunch-included was what we got. Eddy is extremely kind, patient, flexible and entertaining. I was so anxious that the elephants would be touristy and ill-treated, but they are really cared for and the setting is pleasingly authentic. Would highly recommend.

Great experience as you cannot ask more in just one day to discover this amazing animal, the elephant. A long road trip to arrive at the farm. A large group of tourists finally (20). An hour of explanations about how to approach the elephant. One hour to train to jump on and to ride the elephant (20 persons for 4 elephants) : finally he is doing what the mahout wants, never what you would like. Thai lunch. Afternoon ride, about an hour, two per elephant, in a prepared jungle to avoid injuries. Final bath with all the elephant : that's great !! Finally a great experience, great for only one day but a little touristic and short.

Picked up in the morning by eddy himself and taken to the market to buy food for the elephants. I assumed this would be in the cost of the trip, as it is with so many others, but it is not, so make sure you take money with you! We the drove for a long time out to the country which was lovely to see. Once we arrived we learnt commands then got to go feed the elephants. One was chained up and most of our tour avoided him to start, but he was my favourite! We all practiced getting on/off the elephant and got a feel for riding them. After a lovely lunch we all got on an elephant in our pairs and trekked through the woods. It was amazing, if not slightly scary! But each elephant had a minder walk alongside to help control them. At the end of the trek we ride the elephants along the river and gave them a bath which they all seemed to love, then had a water fight with them! All in all, a brilliant day out!
