Reviewed June 28, 2013 via mobile

Staff tried their best to deliver services. But what to say - they have not been trained by a good hospitality brand. From answering phones, serving food, delivering towels. This resort will go really well if managed by a reputable brand.

This is a very beautiful resort outside from Chiangmai city about 1 hour from city & airport by car.
9km distance from main road#107, it closed to the elephant house named "Mae-Ta-Man"
This resort is located outside of city so I suggest you to rent a car or take your private car here.

I spent 2 nights with parents there and we're all love this resort because it's unique with high privacy. All staffs gave us warm welcome and professional services, they're very helpful and ready to give us services & support. We're really appreciated.
I invited my parents to take vacation period (fri-sun) with me here which is my dream resort. You know the services, food taste, peaceful atmosphere with privacy
that I got are beyond my expectation.
I gave 5 of 5 stars to this resort.

Cleanliness of room, I gave 5 with well equipped. Also have private terrace in front of each villas.
(There're 3 types of villa here.)
Separated shower area & bathtub in room.
Has outdoor long pool & separated outdoor jacuzzi.

Breakfast is good.
They also served us with fresh fruit juice & vegetable juice that was very good.

Another nice & chic place in resort, don't miss. Café of Rawee Waree, Pon Café, you will see nice scene (elephants walk beside Ping river).
You'll love it for sure.
There're goats farm also, outside area of villas.

My dad forgot stuff in room and staffs (front desk & housekeeper who are on duty on 26May13 at 5pm) gave us big support to send us the stuff via postal to Bangkok.
Both of them helped my dad from nervous because he has to use it in next 2 days.
Finally, I've just got the parcel from resort staffs today (28 May 13). They helped us a lot and we would like to thank you the management team of RAWEE-WAREE RESORT & SPA who must provide their staffs with good training.
I'll visit this beautiful resort again next time.

We loved this place. It is quite a distance from the city of Chiang Mai but close to a lot of activities like Elephant tracking, ziplining, rafting, tiger farm and lots of cultural activties too. The rooms are so big and comfortable, great service from the staff and first class gadens and pools. Enjoy a coffee or cockail while watching the elephants track past is a must do. Totally relaxing environment with good food and excellent conference room facilities too. Only thing that could be improved is the music they play in the main restaurant; sounds like bad elevator music but certainly no reason not to come to this place.

This is a remote resort adjacent an elephant and ox 'camp' (a tourist park). It takes about 60 minutes by car from Chiang Mai airport. There are no nearby restaurants or shops so you will only be able to eat in the hotel.
The hotel allows smoking around the pool and restaurants. Smokers sit outside but you will smell the smoke wherever you sit.
The hotel is frugal with drinking water. You will receive two small bottles of the hotel brand per day. If you request more, you will be charged 20B/bottle. My advice is to stop at a 7-11 on the drive to the hotel and buy your own drinking water because you will need it - tap water is not suitable for drinking. This is really subpar. There are some village shops nearby which sell local-brand bottled water, which may be nothing more than filtered tapwater.
The fitness centre was designed by someone who never uses a fitness centre. There are no towels or water provided.
The resort is adjacent an elephant and ox farm, which is convenient if you want to ride an elephant or sit in a wooden cart pulled by an ox. However, be prepared for the pungent odour of large animal excrement which can be smelt in the hotel lobby and by the pool, unless someone is smoking, in which case the smell of poo is obscured by carcinogenic smoke.
The hotel internet wifi is terrible. Staff will warn you not to expect high speed but really they should warn you not to expect a connection at all. It is slightly better in the restaurant area.

If you are a sedentary smoker with a depressed sense of smell and a love of elephants, and you bring your own water, you will find this resort an ideal retreat from the fast city. Don't forget a hat when you ride the elephant. Although cool at dawn, it gets very hot very quickly.

My overall impression is that the management does not pay attention to details which are important to guests. They are more interested in accumulating good reviews on tripadvisor. At checkout we were not asked how the stay was and what could be improved, but whether we would write a good review.
The only positive comment I can make is that the tea house by the river is very pleasant...for smokers, who can sit under the umbrellas and enjoy their death sticks until the nicotine reaches euphoric blood levels.

Here is how this hotel could improve:
1. Provide guests with more drinking water without extra charge. It's 38 degrees. People need water. It is cheap and penny-pinching to make them pay for your hotel-brand drinking water, which may well be tap water run through a filter. No one is asking for free Evian, but your tap water is not drinkable and I've watched a herd of elephants defecate in the river that runs past your hotel.
2. Put some towels and a water cooler in the fitness room or install a defibrillator for when someone collapses after one mile too many on the treadmill.
3. Install a few more wifi routers so every room has wifi access. Don't enforce a user/password login. You are next to an elephant farm and a Hmuong village, both of which are out of range of your weak wifi. Who is going to steal your wifi?
[Now there will be some people who enjoy not having internet access but these are the same people who say they preferred film photography because there was none of that Photoshop manipulation. If you want to go 'off-grid', learn to turn off your phone. This is 2013 and internet is like electricity - if you don't want it, don't use it, but some people would like it, so let them have it, or don't mention it as a feature in your website.]
4. If you are going to have a 1990s smoking-is-a-choice-not-a-carcinogen mentality and allow smoking in dining and pool areas, then segregate your smokers properly or mention that you allow smoking in bold letters on your website so that non-smokers know they should book a room elsewhere. Some people look at the remote location of this hotel and think, "what a great place to get some fresh air, away from the polluted city". Cigarette smoke is an air pollutant. I do not wish smokers to stop smoking or to have holidays, I would just like to know when a resort is a smoker's haven so that I can book someplace else. Full disclosure in advance helps moderate expectations.

The property is really lovely, but it's too far away from anything in Chiang Mai, including an ATM! And since the hotel doesn't have a currency exchange facility, you need one!
The service is good, but basic. They are not very well equipped to deal with any sort of special requests.
The spa is good.
It's a great choice if you only want to relax and stay at the hotel. Please do visit the Pont Cafe there - it's beautiful!

Room Tip: Choose a river facing room even though it's more expensive

The ambience, room, pool, spa, food and restaurant and staff are extremely good. This is the perfect place to relax and escape from the hectic life of big city. There are many activities around that area as well as resort itself. In the resort, there is cafe located by the river which is the perfect place to relax with your couple, there is garden in which organic vegetables and 4 little sheep are raise up. This place worth your money.
