I visited this resort with a bunch of friends and we stayed in the 3-bedroom villa. The villa was huuuge with spacious indoor kitchen, dining, and living room; outdoor lounge, large private pool, and generous sized bedrooms and bathrooms.

But when you look closer, you can see that the hotel is showing its age. The furniture had seen better days - chipped, scuffed and corners dented; the doors from the bedroom to the pool showed plenty of signs of corrosion. The paint on the wooden deck by the villa pool was also peeling - I had to rub flecks of paint off my palms and soles of my feet.
The daybeds by the main pool also look the same, discoloured and old looking.

The housekeeping service of the villa was inconsistent and needs improving. We only got turn down service one night out of three, no soap in the common toilet, no paper towels in the kitchen. But the biggest problem was the dead lizard in the corner of my shower that they didn't clear for all 3 days and consequently the stench. I tried telling them when they came in to do the cleaning but unfortunately they didn't understand me.

Some may consider these minor gripes, but for the price we paid and as a "Small Luxury Hotels of the World" hotel, I expected greater attention to detail.

Having said all that, the service at the front desk and the restaurant was good and they were very helpful.

Note that the resort IS NOT on Phuket Island. Pros and cons - it is quiet and secluded, but if you wanted to visit Patong, it is a 90 min journey by car. There are restaurants and massage joints in the surrounding area you can get a car service / taxi to.

The Grand Deluxe pool villa was very nice and clean. Was a little unsure at first to find the villa to be on the other side of the road but I enjoyed the peaceful and short walks to the main building and amenities. I signed up for the 3-days mind balance package which included daily yoga sessions, massages and healthy meals. This place is probably not for serious yogis looking for a yoga retreat but it met and surpassed what I was looking for - relaxing few days with some exercises, massages, good food and service with smiles. As I didn’t know what food was prepared for me, it was kind of exciting; I was pleasantly surprised that each meal was cooked to perfection and very delicious. Kudos to the chefs.
