My wife and I spent two nights at this historic Chateau and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As other reviewers have mentioned the owner is most welcoming, friendly and, usefully for us, spoke perfect english. The property is nicely tucked away in a peaceful location just outside the beautiful town of Bayeux and is set in extensive grounds. I should say that we did have some difficulty in finding it even with SatNav, and this would likely have been made worse had we arrived late at night, as neither the entrance or grounds are particularly well lit.

The rooms are very large, as befits a Chateau, and fairly well appointed with nice views. We found the WiFi coverage to be a bit hit and miss in our room but the reception was perfectly reliable in the public areas.

The breakfast is excellent and plentiful. An evening dinner service is also available although this must be arranged in advance, preferably at the time of booking as it is not something that can be decided upon on the day. Consequently, we missed out on dinner but I was assured by fellow guests who did eat there that the food was very good.

In summary, I would highly recommend this accommodation and would happily stay here again should I want a base for exploring Normandy.

Room Tip: There is no lift but there is one ground floor room should you have limited mobility.

The chateau has been tastefully restored and offers very comfortable accommodation in a tranquil, picturesque, environment. Vincent and his family are excellent hosts with plenty of good advice about the area and a truly first class breakfast. Its only a very short drive from Bayeux with all its restaurants and other attractions. Hard to beat and well worth an extended stay.

We have just returned from 3 nights at the Chateau De Damigny and had an amazing time. The room (Herve III) was lovely - very spacious with a lovely sun room - perfect for enjoying a glass of wine after a long day sightseeing. We took advantage of the Table d'hôtes and enjoyed a gorgeous meal with Vincent, Corinne, their son Paul and a lovely couple from Germany. The food was delicious and the wine/aperitif the perfect accompaniment! We spent 3 days touring the WW2 sights starting off in St Mere Eglise and working our way back along the coast. Our highlights include Utah Beach, the American Cemetary, the British Cemetary, the paratrooper museum, point du hoc, Juno beach, Pegasus bridge and the excellent museums in bateaux and Caen! We also squeezed in a visit to Mont St Michael which, at just over an hour from the chateau is a must!

Back to the chateau and the rooms were spotless, the beds extremely comfy and surrounding so peaceful that we slept soundly! Breakfasts were plentiful with bread, croissant, cheese, jams, fruits and cereals plus the eggs/omelettes Vincent prepares really set us up for the day. We can not fault the chateau and would recommend anyone going to the area to go there!

Stayed here with my daughter in August 2013, and Vincent and his family were excellent hosts. They were so kind and accommodating--I definitely recommend this place.

They drove us to and from the train station, which I did not expect. The room was ready early, and was very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. A good selection of coffee and teas, excellent beds, and the view was wonderful. And the bath is SUPER nice--it makes a great place to unwind after a day of exploration, and had a big window that opened to the backyard and a view of the old fort.

Opening the windows created a very nice breeze in the room, and since the place is kind of out of the way, it was very quiet and peaceful.

And Vincent made a terrific breakfast--not only were there items you'd expect for a continental/European breakfast (breads, yogurt, fresh fruit), Vincent made eggs, bacon, and homemade tarts.

This place definitely exceeded my expectations.

Great food, comfortable beds, beautiful location and very helpful hosts. You can also access many interesting locations in Normandy very easily from this Chateau. Stay at least two nights minimum to enjoy the area around Normandy (Mont St Michele, WWII sites).

Quiet B&B, outside of Bayeux. The hosts were wonderful, so helpful and gracious. The breakfast was delicious, our rooms were spacious. We loved our time here. Staying outside of Paris was one of the highlights of our trip and the Chateau de Damigny was an integral reason for this. It is out of town; we had a rental car. Our garmin couldn't find the location, but google maps did--it is on a picturesque, tree-lined lane. If we come back to Normandy, we will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Our room included the glassed-in solarium--a delightful surprise.

Excellent value. Great food, charming old-world chateau environment and clean, modern accommodations. The Chateau de Damigny is centrally located for touring the Normandy region with easy access to the highways. The hosts were extremely gracious and welcoming. Our only regret was not staying longer!

Room Tip: I would suggest taking the full suite package with dinners. You will not be disappointed.
