If you are looking for a very intimate place to stay in Normandy - just outside of Bayeux - this is a fantastic option. The Chateau is located about 5 miles outside of the tourist bustle of Bayeux and is literally an old chateau renovated and updated by the owners, Vincent and Corinne. It is at the end of a long, tree-canopied driveway and is tucked away from all the streets and noise.

We took two rooms, one for me and my wife with a king bed and the other for our two daughters, with two twin beds. Both rooms were spotless, well appointed, had views of the garden, and were gigantic.

We also purchased the dinner in the dining room with Vincent and Corinne. Now understand, V&C bought this chateau after having owned and run an upscale bistro in Paris for many years and they can cook really well. We enjoyed appetizers and an aperitif before sitting down to a home cooked meal with the two of them, a few other guests, and their young son. After weeks of traveling and so many restaurants, it was so refreshing to sit down with a family and enjoy a home-cooked meal.

The location was perfect for us. We enjoyed the tapestries and the cathedral one day, explored the Normandy beaches another day, and then had a fantastic dinner and walk around Honfleur, only an hour or so away.

So, if that wasn't enough - here's the clincher: Once we checked out and were unpacking at our next destination, we realized that we left behind my daughter's favorite shorts. We called Vincent and he said, yes, they found them in her room under the bed. GET THIS: VINCENT THEN MAILED THEM TO US IN THE US AT HIS OWN EXPENSE despite my pleas to expense the cost to my credit card! Who does that???

Staying at Chateau De Damigny is really the perfect balance of staying with a family and being in a guest house. I recommend staying here without any qualifications.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor and our room had a beautiful glass atrium between the bedroom and bathro...

What a beautiful spot. This chateau is tucked away just outside the town of Bayeux. You are near everything but far enough away that it's peaceful, quiet and comfortable. A great base for tourism as is not far from the landing beaches, the tapestry etc.

We stayed in Suite Hervé III. A beautiful room which has been sympathetically restored - as has the whole property. It's decor is very much in keeping with the era of the chateau but it has a clean modern feel to it too.

We stayed for two nights and joined Vincent, his family and the other guests for Table d'Hôtes on the second night. We were blown away by the food (much of which was grown on the property). It was lovely to be seated together and meet new people.

Extremely reasonably priced. We more than got our value for money and I have already recommended this property to my Mum to come and stay. So would I stay here again? DEFINITELY!

We had two nights here after travelling around Brittany and Normandy with friends and found Vincent and Corinne to offer us a wonderful end to a great time in France. they were so welcoming and hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. Thier two year old son, Paul was a delight too and we were pleased to let him enjoy the thrill of sitting in our classic cars!!!
The rooms were very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities and a tv - the only Chambre D'Hote that we found to have this facility.
The icing on the cake or should I say the cream on the dessert was the food! We could not beleive the quality and quantity for 28 euros. The bargain of the holiday! It was made with flair and passion and ate with appreciation!!

Full marks to you Vincent and Corinne and we wish you a successful venture!

Vincent, Corinne and their two year old son Paul warmly welcome you to their refurbished Chateau . Nice large grounds complete with ancient moat and history. We had one of the large rooms (4 in all for us) with jet tub. Breakfasts are complete and large enough to last us through a 2:00 golf round finish at Omaha Beach Golf Club. Quiet rural location just outside Bayeaux which guests should visit for dinner.Large dining table encourages mingling with other guests over breakfast.
Try the optional dinner cooked and served by Vincent and Corinne, several courses that would be hard to beat in nearby restaurants.
Their son is a delightful charmer carefully watched over by his mother. We could only stay three nights for they were completely booked. Make your reservations online or call. The website is quite good

We stayed at Chateau de Damigny for two nights at the end of July, and we loved it. Everything about the place is exquisite. The place is beautiful inside and out. Gorgeous!
Vincent is a PHENOMINAL cook. What talent! We had the most amazing dinner there one night. Everything was mouth watering. Just when you think dinner is over, he brought out more food. Breakfast blew me away as well, delicious! The place is nice and quiet, fully air conditioned, and the beds are nice and comfy. I'd stay here again in a heart beat.

Stayed here for 3 nights from 21st July with wife and 11 year old son.Could not fault Chateau de Damigny in any way.Vincent, the owner, was an excellent host and did everything to make our stay as memorable as possible. The Chateau is in a quiet location and is a lovely building. We stayed in one of the suites and found it very comfortable. We ate all 3 nights at the Chateau and the food was superb on each evening.Wine and apertif are included in the 28 euro cost of the dinner and think you would be hard pressed to find such high quality food at such a reasonable price.Breakfast also superb.Would not hesitate to stay here again and would definitely recommend Chateau de Damigny.

We were delighted with this bed and breakfast stay. The welcome was warm and the room charming with a modern bathroom. There was plenty of car parking. The breakfast was fabulous. Lots of different home made jams to sample. Because Vincent spoke English we were able to get lots of useful information about the area from him. Sadly we weren't able to try the dinner which was unavailable on the evenings we were there.
