We recently enjoyed two nights at the Gloppen Hotell in Sandane. We traveled there primarily to trace some ancestral connections. The rooms were lovely and clean (new part of hotel) and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious; and our dinner in the restaurant was wonderful. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. When we asked for bread recipes, the chef took time to handwrite his instructions. Anita was extremely kind and helpful as we tried to find hiking trails, bikes, cabs, luggage storage and make arrangements to visit our Rye family area in nearby Vereide. Thanks to Anita, we were able to get out to that area and even got to meet some distant relatives. Mange takk for everything!
