Great spot on Lake Garda. Perfect 4 star rating. Although the weather was dreadful it didn't spoil the stay on the edge of the lake. Good value and recommended. We stayed during the mille miglia car race in May which is a real spectacle.

Dear Sir
Thank you so much! We are happy you enjoyed your stay despite the bad weather. But if you are among the lovers of the Mille Miglia race who made our hotel fully booked this year too, I’m sure you could enjoy it. This race is amazing! And every year the cars drive just in the street in front of the hotel. Old beautiful cars drive from Brescia to Rome, and before them 150 Ferrari! The best view: from the standard rooms street side! book in time! See you the next year! And greetings from Lake Garda!

We have just enjoyed a short 4 day break at the Hotel Estee - our first visit to that hotel but the second to Desenzano.
We booked two rooms, one for ourselves with wheelchair access and a single for our son.
Both rooms were of a high standard and well equipped. They were clean and had towels and sheets changed daily. Only one pillow was provided per person but on the second night the hotel provided an extra - at our request. Rooms both had air conditioning. They both overlooked the road but noise was not a problem as we kept the windows closed to keep the air conditioning more effective.
The breakfast was of a typical Italian / continental selection but of high standard with one of the best cappuccino coffees I have ever tasted. The view across the lake from the breakfast area was superb.
The bar / terrace was fully utilised by us and was staffed by a friendly barman. The area around the pool was clean and tidy but we did not try the pool out (too cold).
My wife had a massage in the spa which she thoroughly enjoyed.
.The location of the hotel was very handy for the town centre.
We did have a couple of suggestions to make the disabled facilities better in the bathroom and have raised these with the management which they have thanked us for.
Overall lovely hotel, great facilities and very friendly staff. We will be returning.

Dear Family,
We are very happy you could enjoy your stay and you could feel in good hands, and thank you so much for sharing your good review on Tripadvisor. We are planning to put two pillows per person, at the moment feel free to ask an extra one. All our room are equipped with air conditioning and you can choose the temperature for your room. It’s very nice during the hot summer you can enjoy our bar in the terrace at the garden, the panorama of the lake is gorgeous from there. Our summer menu is offered from lunchtime until 5 p.m., after our barman can suggest you very good drinks and cocktail for your aperitif served with tasty finger-food. At the beauty centre you find a good variety of massages and facial treatments, sauna, foot reflexology and shiatsu, good for relax but also very recommended for healthy treatments: please, remember to book in time, often is very busy. We are pleased you could enjoy one of them, we have a very good long-experienced staff. Thank for your suggestions about disabled facilities, we really appreciate it especially from friendly people like you, that help us to do our best. We hope really you can come back for maybe a longest holiday next year. Grazie! And greetings from Lake Garda!

We were here at the end of June. The best rooms overlook the lake and it is worth the extra, even though the balcony is tiny we managed to squeeze four of us on for early evening drinks (the terraces on hte 1st floor are much bigger with sun loungers). The rear rooms overlook the road but even so are quiet (despite rather busy road).

Very clean. Beds extremely comfortable and with the shutters firmly down completely dark for good nights sleep. Air conditioning is essential and worked a treat. The hotel advises quite correctly to keep windows closed at night; this is a lake location after all and there are plenty of midges about. The TV's are new and SKY available so plenty of english TV and radio if that's what you want.

Breakfast room overlooks the lake and the range of food was perfect. The waiter makes coffee if required, otherwise machine coffee or plenty of different teas. Always eggs (boil to your own taste) and other hot food and ample home made pastries etc.

We used the pool only once because were out most of the day, but it did seem to get busy and all loungers used. Towels provided and good shower facilities.

Desenzano is not the most picturesque of the lake locations, which you appreciate as you take the boat around the lake. It is much more commercial compared with Sirmione, Salo, Garda etc but it does have plenty going on. The town is busy at night with locals who flock to the area giving a great atmosphere.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms have a view of the lake (small balcony) and so do the terrace rooms

If you are looking for a four star hotel in desenzino del Garda please do not waste your money and be tricked into staying here. We stayed here last week after looking on trip advisor for a quality four star hotel for two nights to celebrate a birthday. The reviews we had read seemed to be positive and the decision was made to book during our drive up to Lake Garda from the Italian Riviera. We arrived mid afternoon to be told our room was not ready yet, the receptionist suggested we go to the bar for a drink until it was ready. Some time later we were informed that it was now ready. We walked into a room that was very small, unlike any of the pictures on their website I might add! We paid extra for a balcony as it was such a special occasion, true to their word there was a balcony albeit only large enough to fit a small table and two small chairs on very tightly!! The balcony itself was filthy with stains all along the painted ledge. We unpacked and headed down to the pool area which was a very big disappointment, although it was nice to be directly on the shores of the lake, the rusted gate that leads down to the water was actually padlocked and had been for a while. We ventured into the pool and quickly vacated due to the amount of flies above the water and the amount of green mould around the edge the was not good to look at or relax in.

We headed upto the room to change for the evening meal in Desenzino. The shower itself was an experience, no extractor fan and you could not open the window as the Mosquitos would come in (this was something the hotel actually advised) the shower tray was cracked, had a hole in it that had been filled with sealant, the outside of the shower screen at the bottom had mould on because it had not been cleaned properly. This is not what I would expect from a four star hotel!!

One of the worst things about this hotel which you don't find out until you have actually checked in, is that they have a no self ironing policy which Carries an €800 fine if you do! I have never heard of anything so ridiculous in the three years of traveling around Italy in three, four and five star hotels during our summer holidays. For people like us who drive around with limited baggage, ironing is a must.

The following morning we expressed our extreme dissapointment with the hotels standards to the manager of the hotel. He insisted that this was a four star hotel and offered us another room. The only alternative was a room down stairs that had a window overlooking lake Garda but no balcony, we had no choice but to leave the hotel and drive around searching for a real 4 star hotel. This was no way to spend a birthday. They offered no compensation for our inconvenience but was happy to take the full payment for the overpriced room and ignored the fact that we had taken photographic evidence to show them!

If you are used to four star luxury then this is in no way the standard you will be used to. This is actually a shabby 3 star hotel and should be rated accordingly. The hotel we moved to was Villa Rosa Hotel on the other side of Desezino, indeed a quality four star hotel that had wonderful facilities and cost less!

Dear Sir,
Thank you for writing your review on Tripadvisor, but the first thing that I would like to tell you is that I will not allowed you to say that people writing their good opinions, kind thanks and nice review concerning our hotel on Tripadvisor are liars. So please, next time you are going to write something, simply state your opinion and do not judge the others. Because most of people like to stay here and everybody is free to express himself. They are not tricking nobody, but they simply say how they enjoy their life. To spend a good holiday we have to be able to enjoy our life, I’m really sorry that you find this so difficult. You have even not appreciated our effort to make you happy: 1) as soon as we knew that was your partner birthday (before giving you the room – for which you really waited only 15/20 minutes more, since that people staying there before you were late, and of course we can’t push them out – maybe they like to stay here, you know?) we put a champagne in your room as birthday present (you neither mention it); 2) the room we offer you to change was an executive new (you can see the lake from the bed! modern new furniture, tv ldc 42’... ), so it was what we call upgrade, you could get it for the same price 3) at the same time since that you were still unhappy we offered also a free one-hour-massage at our beauty centre as present for your partner birthday; 4) we are never happy when someone of our guests is leaving because is unhappy, never! and please you should be honest and say that you paid only for the night you stayed, even if you inform us of your leaving in the late morning of the day after, so you should have paid also the second night (a Saturday night in summer season!). We did all our efforts.
About the cleaning, I will not even talk about it, forget it. The hotel is clean, is not only me stating this but the guest reviews too.
Thank you for asking people to read your review.
Dear Tripadvisor user I would like to take advantage to let you know that: 1) you will never pay extra for a balcony, what is that in Italian is “balcone”, little balcony (and neither our guest did this, the misunderstanding is that he thought that he would have liked to have a terrace but – just booking so few time in advance - the terrace was not available, and there was no supplement for him in any case) 2) we ask usually a supplement for the “terrace”, in Italian “terrazzo”, to enjoy a “unique position” on the lake in the whole city of Desenzano, every people writing on Tripadvisor says it is worth it, so it is not so much, and please you should make it sure to book the terrace in advance “on availability” 3) the fire prevention law, not us, state that is forbidden use iron in the room, that why we have a laundry service. We decided to put a warning to prevent danger situations for other guest and prevent people from burning desks and sheets. We think you could never iron on your desk at home, could you? Good behaviour is always appreciated. 4) the hotel is situated on the beach of the lake, what a nice position! We simply want let you know that is better do not leave the windows open in the night, keeping the light on, because also here, like everywhere in the world, a location with water and very hot weather can be a good place for the mosquitos. For a just few mosquitos we do not want to poison air and water, sirs! We like our earth! We enjoy our life.
I hope you enjoyed the rest of your day at Villa Rosa hotel, that is also a very good hotel.
Best regards,
Francesca (Receptionist - Booking Office)

This hotel will not disappoint! Located directly on the lake, Estee Hotel is both traditional yet very well serviced. My husband and I loved the traditional style of the rooms (truly Italian experience) and yet the excellent free wi fi and multi channel tv came in very useful for planning trips and catching up on some Olympic 2012 results!

The room was a good size and the bed was large and very comfortable. The big bathroom was an added bonus. The room was serviced each day with fresh towels provided throughout our stay. We stayed in a room facing the road - perhaps one regret is not splashing out on the room with a lake view! We managed a passing look at a room with a balcony facing the lake, and it looked pretty incredible. We didn't find the passing traffic too loud like other reviewers - perhaps we were too tired to notice after busy days out and about in the heat!

Breakfast is continental and very tasty. Lovely coffee here also, made on request or from a machine (nice quality)! The real treat each morning however, is the incredible view from the breakfast room. It made going down for breakfast even easier! Staff are very pleasant and so accommodating. Because the hotel feels a bit smaller, it makes for a friendlier atmosphere. Thanks to all the staff for great service.

Desenzano is a really great base for Lake Garda. The local train station offers so many options to other cities - Milan, Verona, Venice etc. Gardaland is also easily accessible from the station. A taxi from the hotel will only cost about €8 - well worth the money on the way to your journey and an easy 15 minute walk home after. Ferry boats are just over 5 minutes walk from the hotel, half of which is a lakeside stroll which is very pleasant. A boat trip to Malcesine (cable car to Monte Baldo) and Sirmione are a must!

Can't recommend this hotel highly enough. A really great stay! Loved every moment of our holiday and will greatly miss the Italian ice cream each night!

Room Tip: Do splash out on a lake view room if you can.

Photos and descriptions were true. We paid extra for a balcony, where we spent a lot of time. Fantastic views, helpful and attentive staff. I had a massage after a morning of bike riding, good shiatsu. After looking around we are glad to have selected this location, easy walk to town center and restaurants but on the lake. Many places are across the street from the
Lake. They speak English well enough and helped with reservations and directions.

Dear Sirs,
thank you very much for your nice review on Tripadvisor! You find here what you can see on our website, all true, read the review of our guests, then come and visit us! A nice holiday at the lake Garda is waiting for you in a friendly atmosphere. Some of our rooms on the lake have a wide private terrace, on availability, with a supplement, we suggest to book it in advance, to enjoy relax and a gorgeous view on the lake. The lake Garda offers different type of holiday. Our hotel is a good base to visit cities, plan riding bicycle, go playing golf, and much more, you can enjoy the special healing and energetic treatments at our beauty centre. We offer very good type of massages, clever choice to take advantage of it! Greetings from Lake Garda and see you next Summer!

We ( 4 couples, aged 50-67) stayed here 4-12th June, lovely hotel, wonderful staff and perfect location. This hotel is much smaller than we usually book and a bit more expensive, but it was well worth the money. The lake view rooms we had were lovely. We really liked Desenzano, some of the other resorts we visited would have been too small for us to stay for 8 nights. Lovely atmosphere in the town, excellent rail/road/ferry connections, plenty to do, loads of restaurants, sufficient shops and a huge market on Tuesday mornings.

We arrived at midnight by rail from London via Madrid and with a very late arrival after at the train station after 15 hours of travel, we decided to walk to the hotel on a fragrant balmy night, as it was about 2km and all downhill or flat. Not quite the same on the rainy, uphill route back a week later when taxis were involved (thank you Francesca), but without suitcases it is a reasonable walk, even with my stiff joints, for trains to Verona or Venice.
Less than 10 mins to the ferries.

We didn’t drive but there is a fair size car park.
Dining out did seem expensive, but the meal at 30 euros for the 3 courses at the hotel was good value and they offered to be flexible to suit dietary requirements.
We were pleased to see such good reviews before we left and are delighted to confirm their opinions.

Well done Hotel Estee

Room Tip: Some have very large balconies over looking the lake rooms had little drawer space

Dear Madams, Dear Sirs,
Grazie! thank you very much to all of you for spending your holiday to Hotel Estée. You got all the rooms on the lake, well done! So you could enjoy our gorgeous view on the lake Garda. Desenzano, then, can offer many opportunities of holiday, from here you can reach every town, and we are happy to give you suggestion and help you to plan your trips all around. We are very pleased you enjoyed the meal at our restaurant, healthy Italian food on a menu changing every day, but flexible for what you need. We like to offer a friendly atmosphere so that you can feel being at home also with us. It was nice to see you could take advantage of that and I’m very happy. Thank you for writing your review, so, like you did, also other people can have a real traveller opinion on our hotel. We look forward to welcoming you for your next Summer holiday!
