“Room with an amazing view!”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

My husband and I spent three nights in the Lido. It was perfect. Great room with a beautiful lake view. Very clean. Staff were really happy and very helpful. I saw the comments about the shower, yes the pressure is not as it would be at home, but you can shower just fine. 20 mins walk from the train station if you fan ya trip to Venice or Verona, 5 mins to the town where you can catch the ferry taking you around the lake. Sermione is a must. A really good Tuscan restaurant just 2 mins away. Breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, cheese, ham, salami, toast, good coffee. Room, staff, view, all perfect. We love it and would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Definitely get a lake view

The location is ideal as it's on the main road with accesible parking facilities and the town centre is only 10 mins by foot. We booked a lake view room and we were not disappointed by the stunning views of the lake and the mountains. The room was very cosy and comfy. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to use the pool and expolre the garden since it was puring down with rain. The only thing my partner and I were quite disappointed about was the shower : for a 4 star hotel we would have expected defintely something better as there was no enough water pressure. Overall I would recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view room...this will make your holiday! If you are looking for a nice restaurant in...

Lido

Location > Excellent, on the front with direct access to the lake. It's a very short walk into town to many restaurants and also to the ferry terminal.
There is a sheltered pool and also sunbathing available on the lake shore if preferred.

No restaurant > but can get a light lunch albeit not very good. Avoid the omelettes as they're very greasy! The salads are fine, but served in Pyrex mixing bowls!

Breakfast > Very good selection including some hot scrambled egg and bacon

Rooms

We chose the Superior Lake view room and wonder what a non superior would be like. The room was small and crammed with furniture. The bathroom was stepping back 20 years with a tiny shower and ghastly bright blue taps!

Internet did not manage to reach our room for more than a few minutes but was ok in reception. (Free)

They had a group of 20/30 staying on the first night who were shouting across our balcony to friends in the afternoon and then the hotel allowed them to party noisily outside our room in the garden till well after 4am > so no sleep on night 1. Luckily they left the following morning then it was peaceful! Would not offer any reduction for a poor night.

Staff > Very helpful and friendly.

We stayed here for 3 nights, the location was right next door to the lake and within a short walk of the ferries and the town. We stayed in a lake view room mad would highly recommend this, rather than a view of the road at the back. The room itself was fine if a little tired, the king size bed was comfortable, the bathroom was also a bit tired with no bath but did the job. The walls were a little thin. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, and in particular the barman who looked after the two terraces overlooking the lake. The breakfast was very good
The wifi was free. The outside facilities included a good size swimming pool, sun beds, which were also available on the small lakeside beach. The views of the lake were stunning, this a hotel I would certainly visit again

Room Tip: Stay in a room overlooking lake preferably 1 or 2nd floor

Our expectations where possibly to high since we came from a 3 star hotel in Salo (Hotel Benaco) to visit this 4 star hotel in Desenzano
The rooms are in need of refurbishment, but they're size is good. The hotel looks like it need a coat of paint or two. The location of the hotel was good, less than a 10 min walk to the city of Desenzano.
The pool area was good; clean and nice. There is also private access to the lake.
Breakfast was ok, Eating it out in the garden terrace was enjoyable. Staff was pleasant and helpful enough.
The sleeping was almost impossible. Our room was 4 metres from the sea side (5 rooms with this location) and in stead of being lulled to sleep by the whispering of the waves you where kept awake by the thunder of the waves hitting the beach. We had to use ear plugs to get some sleep at all. The neighbour has a guard dog and one night the dog kept most of the guest awake all night
We will not go back here at all.
Maybe the hotel can be ok for family’s with small children the pool area and the garden was ok.
If you want a good night’s sleep do not stay down at the waterfront.

Room Tip: Stay away from the waterfront

Lake Garda is impressive from any part of the lake, however Lido International was a very expensive option for the view at €220/per night for a 3* B&B. I requested a room with a double bed a bath on a high floor away from service areas with a good wifi connection. What we got was room 70 next to the service area, no bath but good wifi connection and great view of the lake. I wasn't impressed by the room cleaning staff being outside the room most of the time. The shower was so small, that if I dropped the soap I had to open the shower doors to pick it up. We stayed there 6 nights and had a terrible smell of drains two nights, where we had to open the doors and switch on the air conditioning to extract the smell. The view of the lake from the balcony was great but to the right was the service area drying the bedding and the pool towels. The breakfast was very poor, i.e. very little hot food and things were not replenished when they ran out, e.g. water melon and boiled eggs. The circular pool area is fine if you don't want to swim length after length as I do but the pool bar is some distance away via a series of stairs and transition areas. Saying that, the hotel is well located to Desenzano centre and a very good local restaurant. Would I stay here again? Yes but not at €220/per night for a 3* B&B.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the wifi point, if you require internet services in your room.

we have just had a wonderful holiday at Lake Garda, and for me the Hotel Lido iNTERNATIONAL ,did not dissapoint. We booked a lake view,on a high floor, which we got. The bathroom was a clean and spacious, and we had a good size balcony! My partner was a little let down. He thought it over-priced and a little tired. I didn't .So mixed bag??!!!I I've come back very happy.Only down side was poor breakfast.

Room Tip: high floor
